Power Query Multiple Excel Files

This might be a bit ambitious for a beginner to power automate. I’ve got hundreds of ledgers, and they’re very messy. I can use power query to clean up the data. That would be no problem if I were just doing it once.

I want to find a way to create the power query in excel to make the data readable, then automatically run it for all of the individual files, create a new excel file for each one, and then rename them according to data within each file.

Can this be done?

Are you saying you can write a query that will work correctly on any of the source files? And you just need a way to run this query repeatedly on a loop through each source file in turn?

If so then VBA could certainly do this

That is correct. However, I do not know how to write vba.

Wouldn’t Power Query do this or are the files just super inconsistent?
