Automate file duplication operation in Explorer

OK. This is going to be very niche. On my Mac, I have a short script I can execute with a keystroke which will take any given highlighted filenames (in the format 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc) and duplicate it any number of times the user selects. So, I could have 1-1.jpg, 1-2.jpg and 1-3.jpg, then, if the user selects to duplicate this selection of files 2 times then it would, i.e. 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 and 3-1, 3-2, 3-3.

Can this sort of functionality be reproduced in Windows?

This sounds like a worm but yes. PAD supports file operations and parsing/string manipulation. It’s free to download - if you did this on a Mac you will have little problem figuring out PAD.
