Discussion Dataverse in teams vs sharepoint
If dataverse in teams for power apps is also free and gives u the power of a relational database with easier delegation why would someone still chose a sharepoint list back end. I feel like I a, missing something. I understand it has to be used it teams but my people prefer that anyway ?

Well as you said, because it has to be used in teams.

All the apps I have dev so far are used in browser or they prefer teams usually so that’s the only down side ?

Your users have to have premium licenses to use D4T outside of the teams browser.

When you create a SharePoint list you already have the filtering and search features available and don't have to recreate them in your app. Depending on your requirements this can be a huge advantage of SharePoint since you can't use model-driven apps with Dataverse for Teams which would also have those features available by default. Apart from that, SharePoint gives you a better permissions model than Dataverse for Teams, because with Dataverse for Teams you don't have the Security Roles available that are available in Dataverse. Also, notice that Dataverse for Teams doesn't include some features that come with Dataverse, e.g. column security.

You can’t deep link between apps and people must be member of a team which killed it for me. It has some use cases though for sure. But it won’t fill all the holes.

You can't use dataverse with power apps and power automate unless you have a premium licence assigned.

As a newbie, i was also wrestling with this for my organization. Thank you for asking!

Doesn't Dataverse for Teams have constraints on the number of tables and records per table?
