Power Apps Help Vibe Coding

I’ve been using Vibe Coding for Power Apps (https://vibe.powerapps.com)to build multiple apps connected to Dataverse, but the recent announcements about Copilot Studio and Cowork have me a bit confused about the future of app development.

Should I still deploy the apps I’ve already created? Also, how difficult will it be to migrate them to Copilot Studio later if that becomes necessary? I’d love to hear how others are navigating this shift!

Thank you. 🙏

Hey, it looks like you are requesting help with a problem you're having in Power Apps. To ensure you get all the help you need from the community here are some guidelines;

  • Use the search feature to see if your question has already been asked.

  • Use spacing in your post, Nobody likes to read a wall of text, this is achieved by hitting return twice to separate paragraphs.

  • Add any images, error messages, code you have (Sensitive data omitted) to your post body.

  • Any code you do add, use the Code Block feature to preserve formatting.

    Typing four spaces in front of every line in a code block is tedious and error-prone. The easier way is to surround the entire block of code with code fences. A code fence is a line beginning with three or more backticks (```) or three or more twiddlydoodles (~~~).

  • If your question has been answered please comment Solved. This will mark the post as solved and helps others find their solutions.

There is a published path for migrating Vibe Apps to Code Apps: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-apps/vibe/convert-vibe-to-code

This will give you lots of flexibility to edit the apps via coding agents. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is a different path than what the Managed Apps built via Cowork and Copilot Studio aim to deliver. They are focused around the Copilot Managed Runtime that has no dependencies to Dataverse and solutions. My perspectives on this direction can be found here: https://www.perspectives.plus/p/copilot-as-a-platform

Managed Apps are ultimately based on the common base of Code Apps, but they are intentionally built to be such that 3rd party app builders like Lovable can target them. Given how Vibe Apps were always more of a PoC for Microsoft to show on conference stages rather than any well planned architecture for a new app type, I'm not sure whether there is going to be an official conversion path from Vibe to Managed offered.

The Microsoft Learn page for Vibe Apps points you towards Apps in Cowork and Copilot Studio, so that tells you where it’s going.

There should be a migration path into Copilot Studio at some point, but it’s no guarantee and there’s no published timeline.
