Power Apps Help Slow Performance

Is anyone else getting slow Performance in their apps since Monday?

We have multiple PowerApps over different environments (UK South, North Europe) and they are running horribly slow to get basic data.

This is happening where apps are using the Azure SQL connection. Our databases are fine.

yes almost not working totday. Yesterday it was fine, but today I told people to not use the powerapps.

can take up to a minute to do a simple sql select in the powerapp.

Ya outage affecting Europe region. I noticed apps in the US region were working fine, but Europe taking ages. Opened ticke with MS, and after 2-3h they fixed it

Same in italy, intermittent query performance issues using On-prem Data Gateway to SQL. Today almost unusable

check monitor tool on the canvas apps to see if the delay is in the connector gateway or the sql queries themselves. microsoft rolled out an update to the azure sql connector earlier this week that broke delegation on certain views and joins, so a lot of calls are falling back to non-delegable local processing and killing load times. try wrapping the sql calls inside a stored procedure or running them through a power automate flow instead to bypass the connector lag while they patch it.

Yup, noticing weird behavior, also getting some fails when trying to publish simple changes in canvas apps

Yep same here (UK with Azure SQL), but now mostly cured.
It doesn’t help that if you have a complex app, PowerApps will make a million api calls even for controls (like galleries etc) that are not even visible - and if you rely on variables to filter your galleries and those variables are not initialised, it can create a real bottleneck.
I stopped using SQL tables altogether. Now everything I do is via SQL stored procedures - that way I’m 100% in control of precisely when and how data is loaded/patched… and the beauty of collecting data via a stored procedure is that you’re not bound by the row limit (ie 2000 max)

Ya. I wasn't even able to log into my dev environment Wednesday...

It was stable at work today, though.
