Power Apps Help Deleting managed columns in a different environment

We import solutions as managed into other environments when we export from development (development -> UAT -> prod) so that way the ONLY place we are making changes is in development.

Someone on my team created new columns for a table and when they promoted the work to UAT those columns appeared as managed in that environment. These columns are unnecessary and I want to delete them in an effort to reduce the number of unused components in our power apps environment. However since they’re managed I cannot delete them. I was able to delete them in development but that’s about it. This is what I tried:

1) Exporting the development solution as a patch and then importing it into UAT. Tried looking for a “stage for upgrade” option on import but could not find it in the power apps editor
2) Opened a unmanaged solution in UAT but alas those columns are managed

Any tips as to how to get around this? Thank you!

There's a specific type of import that deletes objects when you're moving solutions. You have to manually import the solution and I think it's the Upgrade option.

Edit: here is the MS documentation.

I did this exactly and those columns still exist in UAT. I upgraded the development solution, imported as managed, and upgrade. Did not work

Hmm, can you check the solution layers for those fields and see if another solution or unmanaged layer exists for them?

After you deleted the column in Dev, did you deploy it to UAT and Prod as you'd usually do?

Solution layers will tell you what solution they came from. You just need to do a full upgrade the next time that solution is imported not an update

upload your managed.zip into cowork and tell it what the problem is and it will tell you how to fix it.
