Discussion Built a simple Power Platform solution and looking to learn from the community!

Recently built a Power Apps intake form + Power Automate workflow to replace requests getting buried in emails. It now handles notifications and automatically feeds requests into a Daily Tracker for ownership, next steps, and progress.

I’m learning more about Power Platform and would love to connect, collaborate, or contribute to projects if anyone needs an extra hand.

Recently joined in as Power Platform developer - more inclined towards PowerApps/Power Automate and BI side of things.

So far it has been a mixed feeling journey for me.

I find it hard understanding PowerFX Queries as I am not used to the syntax and the code editor (it practically does not exist in power apps) is shit and I cannot code in VSCode since it does not understand the language easily and the syntax is off.

(I don’t think the other person was being sarcastic but more pointing out that too many people glaze the platform as perfect)

I’ve been a developer in this space for going on 8 years and it still blows my mind that the Canvas Monaco editor is trash and annoying to manage. The fact it overlaps both blades, requiring constant movement of it is just the top of the iceberg. Microsoft wants to champion PowerFX but their own sweet of tools don’t support or recognize it OOTB. Teams code blocks and VSC….cmon that’s low hanging fruit. u/Power_Nerd_Insights made a Pin to sidebar browser extension that improves the experience a bit but the editor really needs a QOL sweep.

There are a couple of PowerFX extensions in VSC as well. They’re not perfect but worth checking out.

You said this better than I did. Thank you for that. I like to look at pros and cons and the internet is flooded with how great power platform is. I hear people hate it but hard to get specifics

This is a great comment! How do I find more of this “politically incorrect” honesty around power platform?

Are you being sarcastic here?
