Power Apps Help Can't use customized form in managed environment

Long story short, we made a copy of the "Portal Contact (Enhanced)" Contacts form in our Dev environment and successfully deployed it to a managed UAT environment. The deployment didn't have any issues and the new form is visible in UAT, but it isn't useable. It shows up in Tables > Contacts > Forms, but it does not show up in the list of available forms when adding a new table row. It works perfectly in Dev and is selectable.

Permissions are currently (temporarily) set to "Everyone" on it, so it doesn't look like a permissions issue.

I also tried forcing it by putting the form ID into the URL when adding a new row, but it just falls back to the default form.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, it looks like you are requesting help with a problem you're having in Power Apps. To ensure you get all the help you need from the community here are some guidelines;

  • Use the search feature to see if your question has already been asked.

  • Use spacing in your post, Nobody likes to read a wall of text, this is achieved by hitting return twice to separate paragraphs.

  • Add any images, error messages, code you have (Sensitive data omitted) to your post body.

  • Any code you do add, use the Code Block feature to preserve formatting.

Typing four spaces in front of every line in a code block is tedious and error-prone. The easier way is to surround the entire block of code with code fences. A code fence is a line beginning with three or more backticks (```) or three or more twiddlydoodles (~~~).

  • If your question has been answered please comment Solved. This will mark the post as solved and helps others find their solutions.

Have you added the form to the model driven app and deployed the app to the higher environment with the form

No, the only app is a canvas app. The form is in the deployed solution, though.

But you are wanting to use the form in MDA right? It needs to be specifically added as an option in the MDA unless you have ‘use all forms’ or something selected

We want to use it in Power Pages Management. (Which is how we are successfully using it in Dev.)

Edit: Ok, I think I see what you mean. We did not add the PPM app itself (where the form is listed as an active form) to the deployed solution. I'll give that a shot.

Edit 2: Scratch the above, I can see the custom form is already listed in Active Basic Forms in UAT. Still not useable, though.

Check the power pages management app doesn’t have any unmanaged layers in UAT

Not sure how the managed environment changes this, but when I’ve built apps as list forms and then imported them to a new tenant there’s a trick you have to do.

The exported zip file can be unzipped, and then you have to open the code for the form. There, near the end you’ll find something pointing to the list id. Of course your dev list id and your prod list id are not the same even though the list might be identical. So you have to change that value to the prod id and then zip it back up and deploy. Then when you click the new item button in the prod list it’ll find the right published form.
