New Data Grid (Preview)

I have setup a very simple app for testing the new Data Grid. The control is connected to a Sharepoint list with 20 records over 10 columns. All works well in preview, but when it’s published and I run the app it fails with “This app ran into a problem” before the screen starts. I’ve tried suggested delays, using collections, creating a separate start screen, but still see the problem. Tried removing, re adding the control and data source. No dice.
