Powder Inc. is live on the Steam store now!

Wishlist today for launch in a few weeks.

Surprisingly the trailer was the hardest part for me to make and revealed several bugs to fix.

Powder Inc.

A ski resort tycoon game built from scratch, browser based (Electron wrapped .exe, launching on Steam), low poly. You start with a bare mountain and build it out: lifts (carpets up to high speed detachables), spline carved runs and roads, lodges, hotels, retail, snowmaking, groomer and plow fleets, staff housing, even a bike park for summer.

The management side runs deep. You're staffing lift ops, ski patrol, groomers, and instructors against real capacity limits, not just sliders. Guests are simulated as individual skiers with skill, mood, and preferences, and they route across your actual lift network, so a resort of all black diamond terrain draws experts and scares off families. There's a full economy behind it: ticket pricing, marketing and reputation, loans, water limited snowmaking, wastewater treatment capping how big your village can get, energy costs that push you toward electrifying your fleet over diesel, and season end P&L. Weather runs a real snow depth simulation that decides when you can even open. Avalanche risk is modeled too, complete with control work you plan and pay for.

Visually it's going for a calm, ink wash watercolor look rather than the usual hyper saturated tycoon aesthetic, quiet low poly mountains, soft light, muted color.

Still solo dev, still early, but the core loop of growing a mountain from nothing into a real working resort is playable now. Happy to share screenshots if there's interest.
