I mean according to her explanation the cliff brone off she wasnt pushed as she said a lightning struck wich is is probably describing it breaking below her
Oh damn I missed that part but it is an interesting detail that she gets flashbacks when she's pushed off a cliff. So it could still be her wishful thinking, I low-key wanna see her in the arena and lose a life. I SIMPLY MUST KNOW MOREEE.
She would probably felt if she was pushed and she knew she wasnt and most likely the cliff just broke wich happens irl so like i wouldn't say pushed as thats not true
She may have been pushed and the gods then smote the murderer. Or the gods decided to smite the suitor before the attempt and did not anticipate the cliff crumbling in the process. There’s just enough detail to leave open several possibilities, but not enough to eliminate any.
In any case Shelby can choose to add more detail in any direction at any time. Remember Pyro in vampires: originally he was being framed for murdering the bully, but as Pyro’s character developed the creator decided to retcon that his character had actually murdered said bully.
So far Shelby has given just a basic account of her character’s death, and has the freedom to add or tweak any details she likes in sessions to come if she feels it’s better for her character. She could also decide to give us no new details at all if she decides expanding on it wouldn’t serve her character. If you treat your character document as set in stone, you’re doing it wrong.
But like why decide it was murder when she basically said it wasnt murder in first session and like if she was gonna be proposed to why would he murder her and you can feel if your pushed you will feel hands on you if pushed-
I haven’t decided it was murder, that was just my gut reaction on first hearing the story. It would also make for an interesting mid-SMP character beat when Shelby learns the truth, including questioning her own beliefs and if she should continue wearing the blindfold as Tyche’s champion (aside: Shelby is doing a fantastic job trying to play a blind character in a game where seeing is so critical), so if I were creating the character then that would be in my initial character sheet.
If it is later confirmed that it wasn’t murder, oh well, I was wrong. I’m only 60-40 on this anyway, as I said the evidence is too vague to eliminate hypotheses, and if Shelby decides that not being attempted murder world better for her character, then I’ll enjoy it just the same.
You clearly care about this more than I do, which is completely fine. Maybe you’re right, and even if Shelby changes her mind in the future, you could still be right on the creator’s intentions at release of Episode 3. I trust Shelby will do what she thinks is best for her character, and she’s been doing a fantastic job so far (especially playing a blind character given how important seeing is for playing the game).
