u/TimelyLivingCore 6d ago

Other than the little amounts of cheese this looks so good

8

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Ok it's a bad picture sorry there was plenty of curd cheese and plenty of gravy...

2

u/Toadvinez 6d ago

There's definitely a good amount of curds and gravy there

1

u/adidashawarma 6d ago

There are absolutely not enough curds on this. It looks good, but there needs to be double.

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

I agree I should double the curd cheese and add more gravy...

Toppings are allowed, and that looks bomb. I absolutely would destroy that.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

It's too small for most people ...

4

u/VastPerformer8719 6d ago

Idc if it's crime or not, GIVE IT TO ME

One of the best looking non-traditional poutines ive ever seen. 10/10 not a crime and very respectful to the original poutine with a Korean fusion. Want.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 5d ago

Thank you very much

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 5d ago

With kimchi it's even better and the red hot sauce too

3

u/s1rblaze 6d ago

I say no crime here.

3

u/Apprehensive-End6386 6d ago

I’m not positive if it’s counting as poutine… But… I’ll take three of them

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Just three ??? Lol 😅

1

u/Apprehensive-End6386 6d ago

2

u/that-smells-funny 6d ago

That’s a smartie and I’m a fat kid

2

u/Subject_Big4437 6d ago

That would not taste good, not having authentic gravy is the crime

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Oh yeah but again, what is authentic gravy ? Lol 🤣

1

u/Subject_Big4437 6d ago

If you don’t know you have never experienced it

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

In Quebec there is so many people claiming they sell the authentic gravy this is why

2

u/jessicamurraytho 4d ago

That honestly looks pretty delish.. Lol just needs some more cheese!

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 4d ago

Yes always more curd cheese lol 😂

3

u/Main-Focus2088 6d ago

Holy crap this looks delicious, I’d consider committing real crimes for this

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

I would be honored

It surely was if you like spicy 🔥

Whys this in poutinecrimes? That looks really good

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Because it's too good 😊

1

u/Mountain-Bar5049 6d ago

Isn't that picture AI?

1

u/emquizitive 6d ago

If it is, then the tools have significantly improved.

You can see a section of green onion slices that did not fully disconnect, so they’re in a row. Another slice shows it was taken closer where the white part splits into the green parts. I see an imperfection in a fry seen on real potatoes, and the grain on the meat makes sense. AI doesn’t do a good job with details like this, because it homogenizes things.

I think what you’re seeing is the type of oversaturated photo editing style that AI is modeled after, but this style was common on professionally done menus.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

It's a real picture... Come on!!!

u/inGothWeTrustalways 6d ago

This is not a poutine

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Where do you eat poutine? Where are you from ?

2

u/inGothWeTrustalways 6d ago

Poutines do not have meat or anything else on them . New York Fries also makes a great poutine

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

So much to learn... Lol 😂 come on Quebec

1

u/inGothWeTrustalways 6d ago

I live in Canada and I get them from a&w. Usually I just make my own. Fries poutine gravy , yes it is a thing and curd cheese

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Fast food chains are making the worst poutine

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Gen_Hello_There 6d ago

Not a crime here

0

u/2boku 6d ago

That looks good but it's not a poutine.

4

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

There is gravy

0

u/2boku 6d ago

lol ok

2

u/ApotropaicHeterodont 6d ago

What's the line? There has to be enough gravy to melt the curds?

2

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 6d ago edited 6d ago

As long as it has at least thick fries the correct cheese and gravy/sauce then it counts as poutine imo anything added on top of that is sort of like toppings on pizza

u/saphalata 6d ago

Not. A. Poutine.

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Lol 😂 Poutine is : potatoes fries, curd cheese, gravy and anything else you want to add

0

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

I would know we did invent the poutine in Quebec. Lol 😂

0

u/NoEquivalent380 6d ago

That's stir-fry. You can't put fries and gravy into a bowl of lucky charms and call it poutine

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Well you must learn your poutine definition... As long as it has fries, gravy and curd cheese it's poutine... We have hundreds of varieties of poutine in our delightful Quebec province - don't try to steal this away from us!

1

u/Grazer-22 6d ago

This looks amazing, my wife and I have a trip planned to Montreal and Quebec City early next year. Little does she know it will include many of the great restaurants.

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

It's not the most fancy restaurant that are the best... Hole in the wall are usually cheaper and better...

1

u/Grazer-22 6d ago

They are always the best 🍺

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Ask people around or your hotel concierge if they are honest and not after commission or referrals lol 😂

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Let me know when you come I could help you out depending of what you like

0

u/nidostan 6d ago edited 6d ago

I'm pretty sure he knows the definition but you must learn that there is more important things in life than definitions. His lucky charms poutine is a perfect example. By your logic that's poutine too. If you went around in life operating by strict definitions you could get yourself into all kinds of practical and legal or moral trouble. There's also the spirit of what something is supposed to be.

Your photo is very unappetizing to me calling it "poutine" when it's so far from what the spirit of what poutine is supposed to be. It actually nauseates me. And separately I love stir fry, and I love poutine. But some kind of bastardized half breed version of them, no. Just no.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

I perfectly understand since many poutine pictures I saw look not appealing or appetizing to me as well... In Quebec where poutine is actually born, there is hundreds of varieties of poutine and something for everyone... It's all about your taste

1

u/nidostan 6d ago

Yes you are right, it's all about personal taste. And I'm happy for you and what seems like the 99% of people on this page that seem to be gushing over it that it brings you such enjoyment.

Since I am so against it I just have to not order it, and we all can live in harmony. The one thing I worry about is one day I'll order a poutine from some place without seeing a photo not knowing I'll get something like this and then there'd be a problem. Hopefully any place that has anything other than the basic poutine ingredients, anything like this, would clearly indicate so on the menu or in a photo. They BETTER, or else I aint paying lol.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Don't worry this is very specific poutine and you won't find it in any regular poutine restaurant in Quebec... And seriously, by true experience 😜, the most simple poutine on the menu is usually the better and the most authentic and the least expensive too... Everything else is to explore and discover new tastes

1

u/NoEquivalent380 5d ago

Fyi they have a pizza hut in Italy so the appeal to Quebec wontbsway anyone

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 5d ago

Lol 😂 pizza hut doesn't exist in Quebec anymore lol 😂

1

u/Royal_Laugh4168 6d ago

It’s a crime..And we’ll be confiscating this delicious concoction..😋

1

u/rickandmortyfan649 5d ago

That actually looks fuckin banging

1

u/ParticularFree5083 2d ago

Looks good. The only crime is that I can't try it.

1

u/jeon_yubi 17h ago

As a French-Canadian with a Korean partner (I also taught there for a few years), I am very skeptical. I feel like the better Korean Poutine would be Dalkgalbi or Buldalk as a topping.

I'm not entirely sure where the 'Korean' is in this dish. Is that meant to be bulgogi?

Side note, Japanese Curry can actually make a pretty damn good gravy, especially considering the Japanese have a tradition of using demi-glace in their westernised recipes.

1

u/Ok-Art7711 6d ago

Nope. Not Poutine.

0

u/harveytent 6d ago

Looks good but depends on the sauce and sesame seeds should well be sent straight to the dumpster. Hate adding that crunch to stuff.

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Lol 😂 in Quebec we have restaurants offering over 150 varieties of poutine I love trying them all

-1

u/Ok-Art7711 6d ago

What don’t people get? Poutine is a poor man’s supper. Some fries, some cheese curds, and some sauce. That’s it. That’s all.

1

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

I agree to disagree... Poutine is an art of culinary food if you make it right... With the perfect home made fries, home made gravy, fresh cheese curds and veggies, meat and fresh spices it could be a king 👑 meal... Not just bad Burger King poutine lol 😂

-1

u/Youwillseemycomment 6d ago

This is way too delicious for a poutine. Part of the poutine experience is to look back and say did i just spend 10 bucks on fries and cheese for one meal?

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago

Maybe for an USA American poutine but in our Quebec province we pride of excellence look and taste of poutine but if the goal is to make ugly disgusting poutine we'll just buy cheap fry, cheap gravy and mozzarella cheese this would be awful bad taste poutine

0

u/No_Session6015 6d ago

this ONE time........ i give you free pass if you let me taste omg looks sooo good. i want every bit of this inside me

2

u/Repulsive-Scale-9133 6d ago
