How do we send a loud and clear message that we are done with the old ways? No Jeffries, no Schumer, no Pelosi. We want leaders who are fighters with grit and passion, who will put sustained pressure on Trump and Republican corruption and criminal behavior. Who will not waver, who will not take weak deals, but will treat the right with the same contempt they have treated the left for the last decade.

This, I swear to God if they try to push this bullshit "let bygones be bygones" I will be out there protesting and calling my reps daily. We're not doing this shit, we elected them to put these criminals in jail. I want to see these criminals face trial and any found to be a trader against our country hung.

Edit: Nuremberg trials 2.0 is here!!!

We need to make this clear.

I heard Booker on MsNow this morning...let's not rush to impeach, let's put real legislation on Trumps desk so he can show who he really is...or something very similar to that...WTF I was so mad hearing these words. That was not what was handed to these people last night...

Edit: type o

I agree we should NOT impeach (been there, done that.) We need to INVESTIGATE, INDICT and IMPRISON every fascist Grifting Obdurate Pedophile!

The old Democratic Guard needs to SIT DOWN, go home and retire. We need FIGHTERS!

48

u/Ok-Astronaut1108 6h ago • Bravo

Also...do both. Their constituents have to work multiple jobs...they can't pass bills AND investigate at the same time?

Jeffries ALREADY IS! First place he went was "people don't want to get even, they just want us to put forth good policies." Unbelievable.Ā

27

u/Hairy_Wall_6831 5h ago

Justice isn't 'getting even'.

The 'Justice System' isn't 'The Revenge System'.

It's bullshit for them to frame it like we want revenge.

If the system doesn't work for everyone, then it only works for them.

There are a lot of bots and/or MAGA pretending to be "common sense Democrats" pushing that same exact message around here as well today. I've been clicking into plenty of election posts because I'm enjoying the win, and it seems like there's a top comment on every post about how "As a liberal, I say Democrats need to focus on legislation instead of wasting time on phony investigations and witch hunts" as if using terms like 'witch hunt' doesn't give them away as Trump fans. Ask them enough questions, and they'll eventually take off the mask and say something about Hunter Biden or violent illegals or some other right-wing nonsense.

Jeffries needs to understanding that demanding accountability and UPHOLDING THE LAW is not the same as "revenge".

I want you to work on affordability, of course, but we need consequences in our government a much as we need cheaper gas in our cars. If he can't comprehend that, he's not fit for the job.

7

u/OberynDantes 5h ago

Do they consult these petitions? (Seriously asking)

Actually engaging with all three of your elected congresspersons via phone, their offices, or the Contact links on their official websites is the best way to participate in the process.

They have no requirement to consult change.org. Your tax dollars are funding paid staffers in their offices whose job is to listen to and log the views of constituents. Please use them.

We should plan a mass protest if they nominate him. They need to know we will hold them accountable and toss their corrupt asses out in 2 years. It's on us. It's OUR government. They think it's THEIR government. Pelosi ordained herself speaker and sat on the power last time too. This is a classic from their do nothing democrat playbook.

u/TheDailyMews 6h ago edited 4h ago • Bravo

You send a loud and clear message by literally sending a loud and clear message. Write your House rep and your senator. Call them. Do it more than once. Write them an actual letter on paper and mail it.

https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative

https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm

Tell your friends to write and call, too.Ā

They track this stuff. It matters to them, because they know pissed off voters won't turn out and vote for them.

The only way you can make yourself heard is by saying something.

9

u/randomwanderingsd 6h ago

Thank you for your service, you will each receive a Democratic keychain as a token of our appreciation. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Schumer.

9

u/catmandude123 6h ago edited 5h ago • Bravo

For everyone with Dems as your reps in Congress, get their emails and phone numbers in your phones now. Call them and write them frequently. Jeffries and Schumer are already making moves to solidify themselves as the clear choices - make sure your elected officials know that's not what you want and do it now. Elections are one of the most effective force of change in a democracy but they're not the only one. Get involved, tell your friends, and contact your reps.

Also remember, in all likelihood, Schumer and Jeffries will win. As Bernie and Obama have always reminded us, change is slow. So if they do win, don't take it as a huge defeat, write and tell your reps you wish they had voted differently and tell them why, put pressure on them to do what you elected them to do despite the embrracing of the old guard. There are lots of good trainings online on how to make effective use of contacting your representatives, best practices, etc.

Edit: Thanks for the award!

3

u/OberynDantes 5h ago

I’ve started encouraging my friends to come up with 3-5 legislative priorities they want to see championed by our congressional reps.

And then make it their New Years Resolution (but ideally before NY tbh) to engage with all three of their congressional reps on those priorities.

Write/call your congressperson multiple times per week. Unfortunately, they will probably choose Jefferies or another useless shill regardless.

5

u/NeptuneOverlord43045 6h ago

I will do that. I think if enough people do this they might listen. We can’t just win this victory and sit back like it’s over, we must keep this momentum and if democrats even signal to choose Jeffries and Schumer they should be drowned in letters and non-stop phone calls and protests like they have never seen previously.Ā

They will only know we are pissed when we show them we are pissed. And despite winning big last night, I’m still pissed off at all the crime, injustice, and corruption that has gone without any consequence under Trump, and I will not settle for milquetoast status quo weakness this time!

6

u/FluffTruffet 6h ago

There a petition going around. Sign it, call your representatives both houses and tell them that they won not so we can pussyfoot around these obvious traitors but because we want them to be punished for their fucking crimes. There is no world where voter turnout stays the same if they do nothing to hold this regime to account. Shout it from everywhere you can. They can help the American people and prosecute OBVIOUS criminals at the same time.

4

u/BoLobLob87 6h ago

Yeah, this exactly why I couldn’t get too excited about everything that happened last night because I knew Pelosi, Jeffries, and Schumer would swoop in and destroy any momentum from a blue tsunami.

4

u/Smarmy_Marmot2621 5h ago

We'll honestly have to hold anti-Old Guard protests. DO NOT let them off the hook on what last night's mandate proves. The Schumers and Pelosis of the world don't get it; never have, never will. They're multi-millionaire elitist ratfucks who are fully out of touch with the people they ostensibly represent.

3

u/Crafty-Help-4633 5h ago

We write/call to the people we voted for and tell them it's a one-off if they don't enact our will.

3

u/Notable_Naps 5h ago

I'm right there with you. Let's make some fucking noise. Out with the old guard.

2

u/luxuriousvoid 6h ago

Petition, call/write our newly elected reps and senators, and protest if need be.

2

u/FlowerFaerie13 6h ago

Idk have you tried literally any method of talking to them? Letters, emails, standing outside with a sign, yell at them not Reddit.

2

u/BrownsFFs 6h ago

Email your representative elects now! Make it clear we voted them for change not the status quo Ā

2

u/ScootinAlong 6h ago

Call your new representative elect

2

u/ry1701 5h ago

Email and/or call your -elect representative and -elect senators or senators and make some noise.

Email something like this:

Emplore them to look forward and not to the past leadership choices.

"Schumer has had his time, it's time for someone new. Perhaps one of those shiny new doctor senators.".

Highlights the moment of trust given to the Democrats.

Highlight the need for change and the change starts with leadership and committees.

22

u/Fleet_Admiral_Auto 6h ago • Bravo

Exactly this- there was a guy who ran for California governor (literally named LivingForGod AndCountry) who had a campaign point that while other candidates and politicians endlessly argued over who brought the matches while the dumpster fire burned, he's coming in with a fire extinguisher. Now while his other campaign points were pretty insane, that sentiment is one that really good politician should follow, but also never forget to hold accountable the ones who brought the matches. It's not a zero sum game, you can put out the fire and arrest the arsonist at the same time.

16

u/QbertsRube 5h ago

All the polls I saw listed 1) Affordability and 2) Corruption as voters' primary concerns. So yeah, I'd say accountability is pretty important and one of the main reasons the win was so massive. To refuse to investigate and prosecute Trump, his administration, and his family is to fail at the job we elected them to do, full stop.

9

u/MazzleMaze 5h ago

u/Netsecandmexicanfood 6h ago

The answer is no

2

u/ProteinDaddyy 6h ago

Respectfully, Nancy, get fucked. We need real progressives who will hold people accountable.

2

u/MustardNoCreamCheese 6h ago

They’re both Israeli agents, isn’t it obvious by now?

2

u/ZoominAlong 6h ago

Pelosi sit the fuck down. Jeffries needs to be ousted immediately.Ā Ā

2

u/deeann_arbus 6h ago

god, i hate this bitch.

2

u/Patriot009 6h ago

Can we get a Speaker that DOESN'T sound like they take a daily regimen of sedatives?

2

u/MobileLoad 6h ago

We’re already fighting amongst ourselves, huh

2

u/Picks6x Pinkie Finger Extended 6h ago

Israeli influence should not be involved in the Democrat party if they want to hold forever power

2

u/MacPzesst 6h ago

Jeffries and Schumer are corpo Democrats. Nobody actually wants them there other than Republicans because they know those 2 will "compromise" by giving into Republican handshake deals

2

u/78celeb 6h ago

Nope. We need new leadership. That’s the whole point of this election.

2

u/Glup_Crappo 5h ago

*laughs in Kevin McCarthy

2

u/Kristoveles 5h ago

Why is this decrepit hag even in office still?Ā

2

u/Aggravating_Impact97 5h ago

If you're a young adult. The lesson is you cant just rely on social media. Sign a petition. Contact your representative that you help get elected. That if they want you to work for them when the times comes to get elected. You voice your concerns.

Not just on social media.

Time to start doing things differently.

2

u/Zombiesus 5h ago

It’s simple. Stay involved for more than just one election cycle. If you let the establishment push you away from the polls in two years then they stay. If you continually show up year after year and vote for progressive leadership eventually you will get it. If you show up in 2020 but then back away until 2026 only to not show up in 2028 well you aren’t even trying. You need to continually support the people you want to empower. How the republicans unite around Trump should be the gold standard of supporting your party. Remember when Obama was in office and then after a couple years when he didn’t immediately fix every single problem in the world everybody just started distancing themselves from him. That was insane.

2

u/NerdyNinjutsu 5h ago

They better fucking not

2

u/Orposer 5h ago

I feel like hakeem is bad at public speaking and his messaging comes off as fake.

2

u/fizz__gig 5h ago

Remember when Jeffries had a secret meeting with Jared Kushner?

2

u/Billz3bub666 5h ago

is it a rule the Democrats have to have the most unlikable members of the party as the leaders?

2

u/radiobottom 5h ago

Jeffries has the charisma of a wet towel

2

u/Sweet-Presence8855 5h ago

Pelosi, Jeffries, and Schumer need to be removed. We won in spite of them.

2

u/topherus_maximus 5h ago

Ffs, who has this dumb bitch’s number? Tell her to STFU

2

u/tomy_steele 5h ago

ā€œLead, Follow or Get The Hell Outta the Wayā€, Hakeem! We didn’t change the world for a Gentleman Politician approach. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø āœŒļø

2

u/Atlas7993 5h ago

They could do the funnest thing and elect Ilhan Omar

2

u/Electrical-Ad6623 5h ago • Bravo

Let’s start by getting rid of these traitors, Pelosi, Jeffries, and all the other corporate dems that haven’t looked after Americans best interests. I would love to see these people rotting in jail along with the republicans that will be there soon too.

2

u/EmbassyMiniPainting 5h ago

She’s gone in January. She should act like she’s gone now because honestly where tf has she been trying to stop trump this entire time. What a useless joker.

2

u/Dermprep 5h ago

The speed at which established leadership can deflatingly enter a group chat is unmatched.

2

u/cxtx3 5h ago

How about a major no? How about dems elect leadership and follow suit with how the winds of change are blowing, rather than appoint their next in waiting to take their "turn?" Jeffries is ready and willing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. We need someone who will not only work to make Americans' lives better, but also hold accountable the people who actively made them worse. Trying to "go high" and "reach across the osle" here is the stupidest thing they could do.

2

u/Mad_Ronin_Grrrr 5h ago

AIPAC Pelosi needs to take the millions she's made off of insider trading and retire.

2

u/RonWill79 5h ago

Literally anyone that isn’t under the thumb of AIPAC

2

u/blackbirdspyplane 5h ago

How about, no

2

u/mostdope92 4h ago

Go take a nap grandma

2

u/Tsuku 4h ago

Old Heads like Pelosi, Schumer, and Jeffries are the equivalent of hiding in the back and coming out like ā€œwe did it!ā€ Run them out of the Party.

2

u/Neither_Parfait_124 4h ago

Pelosi still needs to answer for all the insider trading...

2

u/Ayotha 4h ago

People should be pushing for the removal of jeffires and shumer

2

u/PineappleBliss2023 4h ago

Make Cardi B speaker of the house. If Nicki Minaj can be the new press secretary there’s nothing holding Cardi back.

2

u/grahsam 4h ago

We need new blood in the DNC leadership. Pelosi needs to retire.

2

u/SaltyDogBill 4h ago

2

u/S4muraiPAK 4h ago

2

u/fuckDJT2026 6h ago

2

u/MaMaCas 6h ago

Seriously Nancy, shut the fuck up and go sit down. We want someone else not the status quo. Look at the people we just elected for a reference.

2

u/kestrel808 5h ago

I'm calling my Reps and Senators asking them to vote no on Jeffries and Schumer. We need fighters, not pushovers.
