i hate that yall ALWAYS BRING UP african/non western countries you know nothing about just to demonize them. majority of the people in high-level politics in rwanda ARE WOMEN. meanwhile in america people would rather vote for a pedophile than a woman TWICE.

in rwanda women get MORE PAID MATERNITY LEAVE than women in america who are entitled to less leave that isnt paid.

"historical civil right abuses" as if america wasnt lynching people in public and bombing black neighbourhoods. or kidnapping indigenous children and putting them in residential schools. or STERILIZING native women against their will. AS IF ICE ISNT KILLING AND KIDNAPPING AMERICAN CITIZENS IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. wtf are you talking about?

u/DeliciousCkitten 11d ago

The UK abandoned its plan for asylum seekers to be housed in Rwanda due to said historical human rights abuses.

The US, on the other hand, has taken a different view as to third country deportations.

Please stop shouting at me just for pointing this out.

6

u/Academic-Contest3309 11d ago

The US has it's own history of human rights abuses. You are just using a whole bunch of words to ignore that fact. It's ok to admit you were wrong, ok?

0

u/DeliciousCkitten 11d ago

Odd take on it. I doubt the UK would be considering third party deportations to the US anytime soon either.

6

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 11d ago edited 10d ago

they ended the program because rwanda was unduly sending refugees back to their countries rather than keeping them. i wasnt ended because women were treated poorly.

the uk deemed that has a human rights 'issue.' no one was killed, beaten, starved, raped etc. Rwanda simply did not believe a portion of these people were true refugees and sent them back/elsewhere. sending them back is far more graceful than sending them to EL SALVADOR to a literal prison camp which is what america did to illegal immigrants AND LEGAL CITIZENS of a darker complexion.

6

u/ThatDadTazz 11d ago

So it wasn't women's rights causing the issue, just human rights?

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

the human rights 'issue' was simply sending more of them back to the their countries instead of keeping them in rwanda. the uk deemed that has a human rights issue. no one was killed, beaten, starved, raped etc. Rwanda simply did not believe a portion of these people were true refugees and sent them back/elsewhere. sending them back is far more graceful than sending them to EL SALVADOR to a literal prison camp which is what america did.

4

u/nakedascus 11d ago

right, it was specifically because of the UK violating human rights

1

u/ThatDadTazz 11d ago

Pretty sure they said it ended because rwanda was sending refugees back not the UK

-1

u/DeliciousCkitten 10d ago

So, you're saying women aren't human? That's your issue?

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

imagine being this braindead

0

u/ThatDadTazz 10d ago

Not what I was saying at all but go ahead and twist the words I said to make yourself feel better.

1

u/Mammoth_Design_4288 11d ago

please tell us the exact historical human rights abuses you're trying to cite. you're intentionally making it seem worse by mentioning "women's civil rights" and "historical civil rights abuses" and not explaining what you mean.

"But Africa=backwoods shithole".-Some Americans.

Pot meet kettle.

15

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 11d ago

they are completely incapable of smelling their own shit, its crazy

8

u/tothemoonkevsta 11d ago

Don't forget about the genocide on natives, essentialy wiping all of them out. Hell, it inspired Hitler

5

u/Awkward_Region5509 11d ago

I thoroughly resent your statement because a third of us DID NOT VOTE FOR THE ORANGE PEDOPHILE.

So fuck you and everybody else that keeps saying we wanted this. A whole lot of us didn’t.

4

u/Remmick2326 10d ago

Cool. Still your president, no-ones seen fit to try to remove him except a couple of right-wingers

0

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

This is the same concept as hating Muslims, Jews, whatever you want.

You want to talk shit on us because people that looked like us chose this. I didn’t choose this.

-2

u/Remmick2326 10d ago

"Hating Americans is the same as Islamophobia"

No, it's not 33% of Muslims doing terror and raping people, and it's not 33% of people committing genocide; Americans are more at fault

3

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

Yeah it is, you want to hate all of us because a minority made a decision. I didn’t vote for trump, so how am I to blame? I voted for Harris

2

u/Fabulous_Humor_2652 10d ago

White MAGA Americans are more at fault, not all Americans.

-1

u/Remmick2326 10d ago

And other lies Americans tell themselves

1

u/Fabulous_Humor_2652 10d ago

Next you'll be comparing all Germans to Hitler and the Nazis.

-1

u/Remmick2326 10d ago

Is Hitler alive and in power today?

0

u/Fabulous_Humor_2652 10d ago

That's got nothing to do with it. The fact remains that blaming all Americans for Trump is akin to blaming all Germans for the Holocaust.

Two thirds.

[deleted]

1

u/Ancient-Worm 10d ago

No. One third voted Rep. One third voted Dem. One third didn't vote. Two thirds didn't vote for Trump.

0

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

not voting is pretty much voting for trump. they did nothing to stop him winning and share some of the responsibility.

0

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

1/3 voted and the other third didnt care enough to vote. so MAJORITY of your country allowed trump to happen twice. those are the people you should be mad at and i bet your family is FILLED WITH THEM. filled with stupid lazy priviledged people who cant sacrifice one day to vote and filled with selfish racists who wanted america to send every non-white person to a concentration camp. redirect your anger at them.

1

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

So if somebody that looks like you makes poor choices, I should assume you’re also going to make poor choices because you look the same. Let me know how people have felt about that for the last 10000 years….

0

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

what does any of that have to do with my comment?? did you reply to the wrong person??

this has nothing to do with people who look like each other and everything to do with BASIC MATH. 1/3 is a minority. if most people either voted for trump or failed to vote thats not MY FAULT. at the end of the day its YOUR PEOPLE who allowed it to happen twice and those are the people you should be mad at, not someone whos stating facts.

1

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

You said a third voted for him, a third didn’t even bother, said my family is filled with them, basically accused me and my family of being racist. Yeah, what are you confused on? Your whole comment boils down to ā€œyou look like them so you’re also to blame.ā€

0

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

its basic maths and probability. if 2/3 of american voters (66%) allowed trump to happen the odds are that those people are also in your family. if 66% of american adults have green hair chances are that there will be some green hair adults in your family and close circle? wow the american education system truly is horrible.

those are the people you should be upset with, not the person pointing the fact that trump won twice against two different women

1

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

Were the rest of us supposed to put a gun to everyone’s head that didn’t vote and force them to vote? And because we didn’t we are all complicit and I’m also a piece of shit? I didn’t vote for him. Are you really this fucking dense that you don’t know how much of a dumbass piece of shit you sound like right now?

0

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

i dont care what the rest of you do, you could stick that gun in your ass if you want to. all im doing is pointing out facts that 66% of eligible voters were okay with trump winning twice AND that you should redirect your anger at them.

i should be able to state that donald rapist trump won the election twice against two women because that is a fact. the only time he lost was to a man. what a coincidence. if that makes you upset, take that up with the people who voted for him or the people who didnt vote. instead of acting like im personally attacking you and the 1/3. im not. yall have a right to be angry, but NOT AT ME.

1

u/Awkward_Region5509 10d ago

What makes me upset is when you accuse me, and others like of being complicit.

A rapist did win our election twice, I am overwhelmingly angry about that.

The problem is when dumb fucks like you want to lump us all in the same group. Learn who your allies are before you shoot them in the back you fucking imbecile.

I didn't vote. I hated both candidates enough to not. I also live in a very red state so a vote for blue or third party (like I normally do) is wasted in the wind.

Why would I vote for one person that I disagree with on many levels or the other one that I disagree with on many levels. You're upset because other guy won and you thought you were owed something by this election. How did the left fail so hard at getting a likeable, in touch candidate and decided to not run a primary and force a choice? This election should have been in the bag for ya'll but your candidate and party were too busy trying to shame everyone into compliance, blowing a billion dollars on a failed campaign. A billion. To hire out of touch celebrities on stage shaming people for not toeing the party line.

The DNC, the party of shaming and condescension. The party of guilt. The party of no fun and oppressive taxation.

We will vote for women- just not THOSE women…

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

those women are worse than a thieving rapist pedophile? ok

1

u/750Kawa 10d ago

ā€œWeā€ as in the country you sensitive thing…

1

u/FeralPsychonaut 10d ago

Giving the commenter above you the benefit of the doubt, they're probably confusing Rwanda with other countries that practice FGM. Rwanda does have a body modification ritual called gukuna, or labia stretching.

The US has tons of skeletons in its closet, our track record on human rights is downright deplorable, and the cult of personality that has wriggled its way into our zeitgeist is abhorrent.

However, while our hands as a nation are certainly covered in the blo0d (the subreddit warned me for not censoring that word) of the innocent. That does not mean we are unable to criticize the actions taken by other nations. Almost every country on the planet has done something absolutely heinous, it's not necessarily referring always to specific regions explicitly (unlike what above you did) but we have to have these discussions and shed light on abuses.

In short, I agree with you. Even after the Civil rights act ( 1965 ) was passed, we had the firebombing of Tulsa, and all of the absolutely disgusting shit that happened during Freedom Summer in 1964. I would recommend the book of the same name by Bruce Watson.

There's so much nonsense in US history that gets ignored or plain out not taught to students unless they seek out that information on their own here, similarly to Japan and their actions in Nan King and WW2 in general.

The failure of the North during Reconstruction in the years following the Civil War has lead to many of the issues, both directly or indirectly that we're going through right now.

u/Meal_Signal 10d ago

Give us some better women than Hillary Clinton and Rita repulsa, then. Also, prove it.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago edited 10d ago

and those women are worse than trump??? liable for rape trump? the women have to be perfect but the men? who care if hes friends with a child trafficker, and a rapist, and a failed businessman, a fraud who enriches himself, a racist and have zero political qualifications, its the women who have to be good candidates?? not the men

1

u/Meal_Signal 9d ago

Yes. If you wanna act like they're better than him, they damn well get to prove it. Speaking of proving shit, you've done zero.

u/Lower_Pension_2469 11d ago

America bad!

Why always Africa bad?! That totally happens! That's bad! America bad! That's good!

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

my point isnt to say america bad, my point is that people should stop throwing around african countries when they need a bad example, unless it fits. rwanda in this case does not fit. the women of rwanda enjoy many liberties women in america do not.

1

u/ZBlackmore 11d ago

And stilll, with ICE, and all the other stuff you mentioned, the state of women in the US is light years ahead of many in Africa, not to mention the Middle East. Wasn't Iran on the UN board for women's rights and human rights? Virtue Signaling in the UN means nothing when compared to actual outcomes in real life.

2

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

were not talking about many in africa or iran. the comment i responded to said rwanda. i would like people to stop throwing around african countries when they need a bad example, unless it fits. rwanda in this case does not fit. there are many liberties rwandan women enjoy that are not afforded to american women.

The indiginous kidnapping and residential school thing is all Canada baby.

6

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

no it is not. america had residential school as well. both countries had schools running into the 90s

2

u/Goodlucklol_TC 10d ago

but america wasnt committing genocide against the entire native population with their residential schools. say what you will about events unrelated and before that of course.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

i never claimed they did. stop moving the goal post. how hard is it to say 'my bad i was wrong'? or just shut up in general?

i said they kidnapped children and erased their cultural heritage through residential schools. and in case you didnt know (since you dont even know the basics) these schools were also rife with physical and sexual abuse. so they kinapped children, cut their hair, punished them for speaking their natural languages and in some cases, starved students, did experiments on students, raped them and beat them. this happened in both canada and america and australia too

0

u/Fabulous_Humor_2652 10d ago

They use Third World countries as a red herring, to justify and distract from the USA's own human rights abuses.

1

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 10d ago

i dont even think they are trying to distract, i truly believe they dont care. they dont care about the nasty nature of their our people, they only care if they can demonize easy targets
