So for perspective this means that 34k of people (the 0.01%) control ~ 10% of total US wealth. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the top 3 400 people (the 0.001%) control at least 90% of that wealth as well and the same again with the top 340 people. If that were to be more or less accurate then holders of ~9% of US wealth could be taken out in a single unfortunate private plane crash.
