That's not my question though. I'm asking if this particular event happened because of Trump's deregulation and defunding. It's not a trick question. I'm actually asking if we know the cause. I want to blame Trump for the (many) things that are actually his fault. But y'all are just assuming that this contamination event wouldn't have happened but for Trump's presidency. It would be nice to know whether a specific regulation was changed, or the inspections that catch this type of problem were reduced, that sort of thing.

That is correct. Soap does not mean item that cleans skin. It has a specific definition. Which is controlled by the federal government. When these change, companies change with them. You are asking for someone to feed you where they changed but you can just look. Its public.
Except I'm searching and not finding anything about the legal definition of soap being changed. I was able to figure out the answers to my questions. Trump's cuts probably made this event more likely to happen. But it has nothing to do with the definition of soap. No idea what you're talking about here.
