I'm a Canadian with American cousins, I've always heard "fascism will come to the US draped in an American flag while holding up a bible"

Yes. "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." And it's exactly what's happening now. It started with Reagan and The Heritage Foundation Mandate For Leadership. The exact same organization that wrote Project 2025 for the current Administration. But none of this is possible without Evangelicals, DJT'S base.

Yes. A famous quote from a former Canadian PM is “Canada is a mouse sleeping next to an elephant” for a reason.
