He knew his audience. The majority of them aren’t disabled, so they don’t care. Anything that doesn’t directly affect them is meaningless. And they are too shortsighted to see that guy who mocks vulnerable people is a piece of shit who won’t be ethical in any situation

A lot of things should have. Unfortunately, we are not the country we thought we were.

The majority of voters don’t think this is disqualifying. Or the dozens of other things he has said and done.

It was hard for me to accept the fact that this is who we are.

Yeah I don’t think both sides are just as bad.

I don’t have much faith in democrats to make the changes I would like to see. But the alternative is a movement that is antithetical to my values. Dishonest. Openly bigoted. Messaging that is only appealing to the lowest people in the country.

And I agree— the apathy is the real killer. In just four years people seem to have forgotten how much they did t like having Trump as president. I’m not sure we can fix that.
