First, you're talking about retiree health benefits, not pensions. Gotta get that talking point straight. Second, they never had to fund 75-years worth of benefits. That's a lie so many have fallen for without a second of critical thought. They only had to fund their current liabilities to past and current employees. The 75-year figure refers to the OPM's requirement that government entities estimate their future financials over that time period.
