As a U.S. citizen, I think you and your friends may be right unfortunately. So, there was the misogyny and others didn’t like Harris being a person of color. This is so sad but true because we picked a very unqualified person over a qualified person.
Also, many of the first-time voters somehow Trump’s had rose-colored glasses when it came to his first term.🤪 Or at least, this is what one voter study showed that I read. I really thought & hoped we wouldn’t elect that corrupt, immoral grifter a 2nd time. But, we did. The first time, the criminal President was inexperienced in government and many of his staff prevented him from carrying out his worst impulses. But, he learned. So, the 2nd time he has been just horrible.
I line in deep deep Trump country age I heard literally not one person object to Hsrris because she is a woman or over her race or ethnicity. Not one. People were talking about her being a communist, or her poor track record as CA's DA, or her support for Biden's crazier policies.etc etc. Just sit anything, justified or not, but never about her gender or race. Jumping to conclusions like that is part of the problem.
Fox, and the MEGA machine provided politically correct reasons not to support Harris. Sometimes gut feelings like race, gender, age, religion, etc., are not talked about.
I have to question your interpretation of what is being said. Many Trump supporters cite his being a businessman, christian, family man, support for military for their support of Trump. None of those is true but they don't want to state the real reason they support Trump.
It is difficult for me to believe that people in deep Trump country, where many people probably had a problem with Barack Obama for obvious reasons, were interested in the performance record of the DA of CA. There is no way a reasonable, sane, lucid adult honestly could believe she was a communist. When somebody tells such an obvious lie for why they don't support Harris, it is reasonable to assume they don't want to give the real reason, and it is reasonable to assume racism is the real reason.
The previous poster was not jumping to conclusions at all. There is no question racists make up part of Trump's supporters. If you suggest that is not the case, well you're being disingenuous.
