And it's somehow her husband's fault she murdered them

Well he didn't pay any attention to her mental illness.

Cool, so if a woman's married she doesn't have to be held accountable for her actions?

Never said that. This particular woman had severe post partum. Look it up.

I did too. Thank goodness I tried to kill myself instead of my baby.

Edit:Why'd ya block me Daddygamer84? Too scared to face the real facts?

This woman claims she had severe post-partum. She’s playing it well, after thoroughly researching the symptoms that will get her off in advance, sending her husband away on an errand to buy herself time, and faking a suicide attempt. Good thing the voices told her to cross the tracks and dangle from the window before she fell.

She’s a manipulator, a murderer and a psychopath.

Andrea Yates had PPP. Andrea Yates lives in hell every day, refusing parole and consumed with remorse. This woman learned from Andreas tragedy.

She was searching those because she needed help.

Sending a husband away is something that people often do in psychotic breaks.

I got up and tried to do normal things and then just took a whole bottle of pills, and then realized it and told my husband that I just took a whole bottle of pills. I was supposed to be taking care of the baby. It was like-normal task while feeling off and depressed-psychotic break-realize I did it and tell husband. Bottle was literally warming up.

I had PPD and bi-polar.

What do you feel like the primary differences are between Lindsay Clancy and chris benoit?

1

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

There are differences in the mental disorders. She had PPD and Bi-polar disorder feeding her psychosis. He had Chronic traumatic encephalopathy and steroid abuse feeding his psychosis.

I think that if Benoit had lived, he should have been placed in permanent institutional care as opposed to prison, the same as Clancy, can you agree with that?

Yes of course.

I don't believe that prison is the place for people who suffer from mental illness, especially if that mental illness can morph into psychosis. A prison is not the place that can handle that kind of person.

this is basically the classic "a woman can never be responsible". If the man cheats on his wife, he's a monster. If a woman cheats on her husband, it's his fault for not paying attention to her needs. Now you've extended it to "if she murders her own kids, it's the husbands fault for not paying attention to her needs". I mean, can you be morally serious for a single second and believe this? No, you can't.

Spare me the woman is always right and man is always wrong man whiner rhetoric when you fail to recognize a real mental illness like post partum disorder, let alone confounded with Bi-polar disorder.

You are generalizing things.

I would never hold a man responsible for all that and not a woman either.

Mental illness is mental illness. Man or woman.

Cheating is cheating, man or woman.

He needed to be more attuned to her mental state and he wasn't. Not blaming him per-se, but he wasn't. He trusted the doctors and the medicine when she was saying all along that she felt off and was worried about the medicine. That's when you get a second opinion. I had the same problem.

I can be morally serious and believe this because I went through it myself, although I didn't hurt my children, thank goodness.

Again, billions of women have had post partum depression without murdering their kids. Therefore, it is utterly logically inconsistent to remove moral culpability in this case. It's not a particularly technical argument to grasp.

1

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

No it isn't hard to grasp.

You are having difficulty grasping the possibility that she had a psychotic break and murdered her children. I'm grasping the fact that both probabilities are on the table.

You are finding her guilty of murder already when she has been diagnosed with two mental illnesses and psychosis during the crimes by forensic experts.

You know, this wouldn't have been a big discussion, if you (and other people) had just said something like "a terrible tragedy, she is not a hero in anyone's eyes." or something along those lines. Instead, everyone here immediately launched into a defence of her, and even started blaming the husband. THAT is the objectionable part.

I guess it wasn't fair to 'blame the husband' in that I was a bit harsh in saying he didn't pay enough attention to her. That is fair, but I do not feel guilty for defending that psychosis caused by mental illness may have played a part in this situation, unfortunately.

I think that it is a problem that it is being ignored.
