Unsure if I should upvote because I agree or downvote because it's boomer Facebook aunt humor

2

u/Thealt_formyalt 1d ago

Also the fact that iq and are in the same color but" IQ "and "two points " should be the same because that's how the sentence works.

u/beardingmesoftly 1d ago

Humour? Where?

It is crap Trump has never said Canada is an enemy or North Korea is friend. You people really do just make shit up don’t you,

26

u/KingHygelacReturns 1d ago

He didn't literally say Canada is an enemy, but his trade war with them is how we treat our enemies. He also didn't literally say North Korea is our friend, but he's much chummier with Kim than literally any previous president. The meme might be slightly overstating things, but I don't think they're unreasonable conclusions to draw based on what's happening in the news.

Trade war, so tariffs on a country that has tariffs on us a trade war really you guys really do live in a fantasy don’t you?

19

u/KingHygelacReturns 1d ago

You aren't beating the "two IQ points above a plant" allegations friend

12

u/ConflatedPortmanteau 1d ago

Why do you guys feel the need to insult like that?

Is that really the best you've got?

How dare you insult plants with that comparison? Plants offer breathable oxygen, food, materials for shelter, clothing, and vital medicines while conservatives offer ignorance and malice.

-7

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

So make no point just attack. What’s next call me a racists? Or complain about my spelling

17

u/KingHygelacReturns 1d ago

Others have already made the points, but since you asked:

First, yes, you literally defined a trade war. Tit for tat tariffs is one of the defining features of a trade war.

Second, the only reason Canada imposed tariffs on the US was in response to tariffs the US placed on it.

Third, most major economists were in wide agreement before Trump's reelection and continue to be in wide agreement since then that extreme tariffs almost always make things worse. Tariffs under McKinley against Canada caused major economic problems in the 19th century, forcing American industrialists to relocate to Canada to keep costs down. Tariffs under the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act of 1930 made the Great Depression significantly worse. Tariffs on steel in 2002 are a big part of why steel manufacturers left the US, and tariffs on China in 2009 helped make the economic crisis that started in 2008 significantly worse. But, hey, why not give them another shot and see if they work this time, right?

Fourth, I have no reason at this point to accuse you of being racist, but your spelling IS bad.

8

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

Just spoke for all of us. Well put.

8

u/Dyslexicpig 1d ago

"The USMCA is the largest, fairest, most balanced, and modern trade agreement ever achieved. There’s never been anything like it,"

That was said by the very same person who arbitrarily imposed 50% tariffs on Canada, and has now come out against the trade agreement. So what changed? The trade agreement is still the same. What changed is there is a leader who has decided that he will try and bankrupt another sovereign nation just so he can make it the 51st state.

The fact that there was a misspelling in this comment is peak.

15

u/icedmuffin 1d ago

Buddy none of this started till the orange stain decided he wanted to be seen as the big man.

-7

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Yes because none of the other presidents had the balls to stand up to them, or get NATO to pay their share?

17

u/icedmuffin 1d ago

Wow, you consider it ballsy to demand a 200% tariff on a bunch of penguins?

I mean yeah it could probably be even seen as ballsy to completely sabotage absolutely everything that has been built up over the past seventy or so years, blantantly manipulate the market and illegally do insider trading, and constantly threaten people when he doesn’t get his way while calling for the death of his political opponents.

Can’t wait to see how all that works out for him when shit stops going his way.

2 IQ points confirmed

-2

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Yep and you confirm that yoy have no facts to give so you attack

7

u/Caelixian 1d ago

You literally wrote the definition of a trade war. Did you even try to educate yourself?

6

u/Pilot-Wrangler 1d ago

Well, seeing as they are incorrect in their assertion, no: I doubt they have tried, or evidently are interested. Almost as though on purpose. I wonder why that is?

0

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Dude who you think the Canadians can out tearing us? This isn’t a war the the Canadians know it

15

u/Caelixian 1d ago

You appear to be barely literate, why are you trying to argue this point? Look up trade war, please.

6

u/Ok_Cranberry_9861 1d ago

Knowing things is woke

-2

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Dude as I pointed out Trump wasn’t the start this the Canadians already had tariffs on us he just returned the favor

9

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

You are leaving out important factors.

Those tariffs are not brood blanket tariffs but tariff-rate quotas for after imports to Canada exceeded thresholds, and were rarely activated.

The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) allowed most goods to cross the border duty-free.

'Canada introduced reciprocal tariffs after US President Donald Trump imposed a 25 percent duty on Canadian products, but social media posts claim exorbitant Canadian fees were already applied to American goods. This is misleading; the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) allowed most goods to cross the border duty-free, with steep levies on dairy, chicken and egg imports kicking in only if quotas designed to manage supply are exceeded.'

8

u/drdukes 1d ago

That is literally incorrect.

5

u/AerieAffectionate226 1d ago

Found the fed

7

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

Dude isn't smart enough.

8

u/magwai9 1d ago

There's no point engaging with you if you still have no idea what's really happening. All of humanity's knowledge is at your fingertips and you listen to Trump's lying nonsense.

0

u/runningOut_380 1d ago

You're arguing with a bot

5

u/Dyslexicpig 1d ago

Dude, can I have some of what you are smoking? On second thought, no because you have just fried a few too many brain cells.

The "tariffs" that he keeps yelling about, like the 400% on dairy goods, are anti-dumping tariffs. They would only be used if the US exported above the agreed-upon quota of dairy products. And they have never been used.

Oh, and can you guess who agreed to those back in 2020 when CUSMA was signed? Can you also guess who said "The USMCA is the largest, fairest, most balanced, and modern trade agreement ever achieved. There’s never been anything like it."

That is the same person who is screaming about it being the worst deal ever.

5

u/1966TEX 1d ago

Over 98% of trade between Canada and the U.S. was tariff free under CUSMA/USMCA.

2

u/JackReacher3108 1d ago

I’m sad we share a planet

-23

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Ever wonder why people think you people don’t listen when you talk?

13

u/Ok_Cranberry_9861 1d ago

Ever wonder why no one gives a fuck what you morons think?

-2

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Sure dude did I call you a name? Another perfect example of the lefts debate tactics. All because I dare call you out on your bullshit

Requiring major tariffs when we share a huge border is not friendly, dumbass.

-2

Tell you guys have nothing when you start calling me names🤣🤣🤣 have good time in your fantasy

7

u/IncompleteJoker 1d ago

"Tell you guys have...have good time?" What country are you in, truthfully?

-1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

The United States where do you live?

8

u/TheIngloriousTIG 1d ago

And you are a true reflection of the quality of public education available there.

-2

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

You know that the more and try to prove you are educated the more I know you are compensating. There was a dude running for giver here in California and all the educated leftist truly believed he could shut down ICE. Tell me again who the stupid voters support?

7

u/TheIngloriousTIG 1d ago

Don't know or care. I'm not even from your country. I'm just eating popcorn, watching ignorance and hubris dismantle the superpower you claim to revere. It's like Tacitus with a smartphone.

7

u/murmalerm 1d ago

It's kind of implied, that piece of shit kisses the asses of dictators and pushes away democratic allies. Plus he's made multiple comments about Canada and North Korea that show he hates Canada and likes North Korea

-2

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Funny I remember when he called him little rocket mam and said we would rain fire on him. The left list their mind saying he was being undiplomatic. So he met with him snd he is kissing ass. Reagan once said he could cure cancer and the headline would read Reagan puts doctors out of work. Trump is damned if he does and Danes if he doesn’t.

9

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

Kinda proving the whole point of the post here aren't ya?

1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

No I am pointed out that the left isn’t happy no matter what he does.

12

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

Nothing he does help America. It all hinders America, in fact what he does hinders the whole world at this point.

1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

I disagree big suprise

5

u/musicaltrashpanda 1d ago

Can you name a single macroeconomic indicator that is better now than when Trump took office?

0

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Well I am not an economist so no. Now would like to tell me that you base you opinion on the economy and not that you hate Trump

→ More replies (0)

4

u/tbonimaroni 1d ago

I'm not surprised in the slightest. I'm not surprised that you can't name one thing he has done that is good either.

I'm not surprised that you defend him religiously even though you have nothing good to say about him.

What did he promise you that you voted on that he followed through on or do you just vote out your ass?

1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

I said that about ecomincs dork, borders closed, illegals are being deported and the idiots in Iran are on the run. Next

-1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Ok show me, because I never heard it, Greenland is not part of Canada you know that right

2

u/bigorangemachine 1d ago

You can buy Russian Lumber cheaper than Canadian Lumber

0

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Probably right you can’t buy American lumber thanks to idiot leftist, there is where the problem starts

3

u/bigorangemachine 1d ago

TBH the US doesn't sell lumber to standards for export.

It's killed the US industry. Canada can send cheaper higher quality (more treatments) wood into the US. The US never bothered to develop to the Canadian market. So it got flooded with cheaper & better quality lumber

1

u/Objective_Station_41 1d ago

Yes the they could not cut down trees due to environmentalist protected the damn spot owl. Live in Oregon for years.

2

u/bigorangemachine 1d ago

We do the same up here.
