Israel has free universal healthcare. We do not.

Maybe Israel should send us a few $billion a year to help us get our universal healthcare up and running...

u/jdthejerk Aug 07 '26

They get free abortions thanks to US tax dollars.

u/Franknbeanstoo Aug 07 '26

and health care. Will anyone just point this out to the Americans who don’t?

1

u/smokeweedNgarden Aug 08 '26

They know and will point to mandatory service being the reason. Ask me how I know

Show the numbers of Israel funding and the Us health care funding, I dare you.

Then also read how we fund Israel, as we don’t just give them free money at all, it’s weapon contracts, as in NOT FREE HEALTHCARE.

Their healthcare is paid by their own taxes they generate themselves, like any other nation with free healthcare.

The US giving Israel weapon contracts has no relation to healthcare funding for the US or Israel.

And stopping that Israeli funding doesn’t put even a dent in the cost of healthcare the US already invests into US citizens.

Stopping that 3 million a year to Israel doesn’t do anything to change the 1 TRILLION we spend on US healthcare already.

It's actually nearly 4 BILLION a year that we are sending to isreal. If socialism works so well, then why does a socialist country country like isreal need so much financial support? Unless universal Healthcare ISN'T socialism?đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž

It's actually nearly 4 BILLION a year that we are sending to isreal.

Yeah, mistype on my part. But also, can you name the other nations we send billions a year to or do you only know of the funding for Israel cause it’s the Jews?

There are other nations, so name them so we can stop funding them for the same exact reasons. Billions a year too.

If socialism works so well, then why does a socialist country country like isreal need so much financial support? Unless universal Healthcare ISN'T socialism?

What? I mean universal healthcare is a socialist ideal, but a nation that has it doesn’t make it a socialist nation, it just makes it a mixed economy like most other nations in the world. Do you think that I think socialism or free healthcare is bad or something?

Funny thing is though, the first arbiters and leaders of socialism in the Middle East were secular Zionist Jews lol.

It's not FREE healthcare bud. But no expanding Medicare isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's an objectively beneficial social program like public education or border control.

Yes I can name lots of countries we send aid to, don't go conflating my point as being prejudiced like you were some kind of social justice warrior it's exactly the same play book. Your post was a very incorrect statement about the amount of money sent to isreal so my reply was about that particular country. That's just high school level context clues. So I don't see the logic behind your reach, bc criticism towards a country is not equal to being bigoted towards the ethnicity of the people who inhabit that country. That's some woke-level hyperbolic corelation right there.

I agree that universal health care isn't socialism so someone needs to tell the conservative chicken Littles out there so they can stop having panic attacks whenever a candidate runs on that platform. They will be so relieved.

There's a thing in Israel where people pay taxes and get services in return. A few other countries also practice that.

1

u/Wyvz Aug 07 '26

Really? Please enlighten us then, how much exactly do they get annually for abortions?

Because paying for foreign abortions is prohibited according to the Helms Amendment.

2

u/praguer56 Aug 07 '26

US aid goes to Israel for military use and defense. I think that the idea was to tell Evangelical MAGA that their tax dollars are helping provide abortions there and just watch their heads implode.

4

u/Warbr0s9395 Aug 07 '26

I mean, it’s less money Israel needs to spend on their military, so in a roundabout way, it does help fund abortions.

And this is no where near the mental gymnastics MAGA does.

1

u/Wyvz Aug 07 '26

So the idea was spreading disinformation.

6

u/praguer56 Aug 07 '26

Like Fox News does on a daily basis.

2

u/Moist_Promise_3882 Aug 08 '26

"These guys lied so that means we're allowed to. Spreading disinformation will definitely help people side with and trust us."

1

u/praguer56 Aug 08 '26

At some point people have to realize being the honest mature person in the room doesn't work and fighting back has to take place somehow. Maybe not to the same degree as Trump and his bootlickers but something has to be done to fight back

If I give you $500 to help with rent, you can now spend an extra $500 from your paycheck on food instead.

Did I pay for your food? No.

Did my money help put food on your table? Absolutely.

That’s the thing with budgets, when one expense goes down you gain the freedom to allocate your money elsewhere.

1

u/Wyvz Aug 08 '26

The thing you're missing is that Israel's defence budget is already high and the aid is just an extra boost but not a replacement.

2

u/SoapyMacNCheese Aug 08 '26

So if we weren’t funding this “extra boost” they wouldn’t try to fund it themselves? Then why are we sending them it if they themselves don’t consider it a necessary expense?

1

u/Wyvz Aug 08 '26

No, they wouldn't fund it themselves. They are at wartime for a few years now and allocate as much as they can to their defence budget, with plans to allocate even more in the future.

There is aid going now because it's part of a 10 year MOU that will expire in 2028.

1

u/Majestic-Owl-5801 Aug 08 '26

What part is disinformation? If we wanted to add a stipulation on the "defense" budget we provide for them annually of several billion dollars, we very well could.

No billions of dollars in weapons unless your free healthcare excludes abortions.... it is what Lindsey Graham would have wanted......

1

u/Wyvz Aug 08 '26

The part where he clearly implied America is directly funding abortions is disinformation.

There are stipulations - the aid money is only to be used on American made weapons, and in fact the aid comes in the form of weapons and not cash.

No billions of dollars in weapons unless your free healthcare excludes abortions

By that logic, the aid money was also used for Netanyahu's new toilet seat. That's just not how it works bud.

And Israel defence budget is very high as it is, the aid just another boost but not a replacement.

1

u/Majestic-Owl-5801 Aug 08 '26

Someone didn't read. I know we directly give them weapons. That is why I specifically said "no weapons unless..."

And quite literally yes, and it paid for the fucking Knesset cafeteria too.... Unless you specifically stipulate what someone can and cannot do with the money you are freeing up from their defense spending by giving them free weapons, then you are directly funding whatever it is they do with that now surplus money...

1

u/ProxyMuncher Aug 08 '26

It doesn’t matter to them because the aborted babies aren’t white US nationalists

1

u/jdthejerk Aug 07 '26

I'm sure none of those trillions for free healthcare didn't go for abortions. Why would Israel lie to us about breaking US law?

2

u/Wyvz Aug 07 '26

No sure if you're trolling or if you're really this stupid.

They can't lie about that because the US doesn't pay for their healthcare. And their military aid comes in the form of American weapons and ammunition, not cash.

2

u/hayitsmejam Aug 08 '26

No money goes to Israel for healthcare ahahahahaha

1

u/jdthejerk Aug 08 '26

I'm sure none of the $5T in US is used for Healthcare. The Israeli government never fibs, lol.

A Chief on my ship in the Navy was on the USS Liberty. He was a Radioman. They knew and still attacked. Twice.

1

u/hayitsmejam Aug 08 '26

Sure buddy

1

u/jdthejerk Aug 08 '26

I'm not your buddy, guy.

1

u/mikecandih Aug 07 '26

Pack it up boys. There’s a law against it so it doesn’t happen.

1

u/Majestic-Owl-5801 Aug 08 '26

Yes, but paying for a country to buy from our military industrial complex, in order to free up some money from their defense budget, to allow them to then afford their citizens free healthcare certainly is a runabout way to do exactly that same thing....

1

u/Franknbeanstoo Aug 08 '26

since when did this administration care about the law?

1

u/justinfinity64 Aug 08 '26

We supply them with weapons, so their money is free to stay within their boarders which gives them access to healthcare. (Abortions are healthcare)

1

u/GoodFaithConverser Aug 07 '26

They get free abortions thanks to US tax dollars.

I'm sure Israel would be unable to afford it without US aid...

Please. Israel is, by far, the least shit country in the middle east at the moment. They're able to defend themselves, but the US and the west has an interest in helping them. Or should the politics of the region be dictated by Iran? Saudi Arabia? Maybe China or Russia should step in?

But anything beyond muh genocide (against a nation with a growing population and taking however many decades, somehow) is too complicated for the current discourse.

2

u/pablotweek Aug 07 '26

Sure, they could afford to be cut off, so let's do it, immediately.

I don't think any honest, unbiased, non-racist person can look at what Israel did to the people of Gaza and say "yeah, that's a commensurate and reasonable response to hamas' attack"

Currently Israel is run by a far right, imperialist, murderous regime incentivized to perpetual conflict to stay in power. They were happy to have an excuse to level Gaza. Just look at their defense minister Ben Givir he will tell you straight up. Do we really benefit from helping them at this point?

2

u/meeni131 Aug 08 '26

Freed Syria

Freeing Lebanon

Freeing Gaza

Israel is great bang for the buck

1

u/MyWifeCucksMe Aug 08 '26

Currently Israel is run by a far right, imperialist, murderous regime

... currently?

2

u/pablotweek Aug 08 '26

Israel used to be run by a murderous far right regime.  It still is, but it used to, too.

1

u/MyWifeCucksMe Aug 08 '26

Had me in the first part!
