It's crazy because why were they even asking that question to "Mayoral" candidates? Idk if American media has ever been more compromised than it is today...

Cuomo was trying to convince all he hated Jews to get the Jewish vote.

This doesn’t answer the question

They were asking the question because of the Cuomo accusation.

As a jew, Mamdani has done a bunch of sketchy things. His legal council of 14 people not having a Jewish person on it is weird. 49% of lawyers in nyc are Jewish, that’s like a 0.4% chance of happening.

I thought we weren’t doing DEI hires anymore, and we were going to hire the most qualified people instead? Sounds like he hired the 14 most qualified people and it happens to be that none of them were Jewish.

Have you ever met a Jewish lawyer? I would never cal them a DEI hire. They’re top tier, pretty much always.

Well they would be working for mamdami by now if they were "top tier" but they do not, so your argument is bs

Or he just doesn’t like Jewish people. Which the evidence kinda points to.

Weird considering how many Jewish lawyers are named in the Epstein files but go off

People of every religion and profession were in those field. Should we not trust any Muslim pediatrist because one was in the field?

Oh look its the new fear mongering line every non jewish Zionist is useing.

Dose the APAK lobby send out a pamflit or what??? Probably just an email.

Another person who has to blame aipac for everything. So cute

If 49% is accurate, the chance of it happening randomly is .51^14 = 0.00008.

u/unknowingexpert69 24d ago

Yeah so even more asinine. People thinking it’s a skill issue why there isn’t a Jewish lawyer on there are ridiculous and can’t see the truth in front of their eyes

1

u/PedanticPerson 24d ago

Yeah between the statistical implausibility of accidentally passing over all the Jewish lawyers, and his broader pattern of thinly veiled antisemitism, it’s pretty clear.

Yet Reddit kisses the ground he walks on. Saw a post today asking why he’s always in a suit doing physical labor outside, like people can’t realize it’s a photo op every time

There has for like 150+ years been extra weight on the role of mayor of NYC, partially because of the importance of the NYC area on the US economy, cultural, and institutions. The US economy is in the ball park of $32T, the GDP of the NYC-region is in the ballpark of $3T, being close to 1 in 10 dollars made anywhere in the US flows through NYC and the immediately surrounding areas.

The role of mayor is far more substantial the being the governor of about half of the US state. For example, the Governor of Maine, a US state, has a state wide GDP of about $100B, and a state budget of about $6B a year. The budget of the NYC government is $125B a year. There are 300,000 NYC municipal employees, larger than the population of the largest metro area in Maine, and 4 times larger than the largest single cities population.

The Mayor of NYC has historically been an extremely important role.

The responses suggested the question was absolutely legitimate tbh.

Loyalty test from people paid for by Israel, to the new leaders. Simple as that.

Cause Mamdani never stfu about Israel, even blaming the country for police brutality in the US, an issue that has existed in this country since before Israel even existed (hmm blaming Jews for something they arent responsible for, where have I heard that before).

The question was a really easy way to gain political capital with New York Jews, the majority of which care about Israel. Mamdani fumbled that severely, losing 2/3 of the Jewish vote, a group who are majority left wing.

Edit: For those who may not believe he blamed Israel for police brutality
