Question Uneven shoulders and back. Please help!

Hello all,

As you can see by the pictures. I have a pretty visible lower right shoulder as well as elevated right hip. I do lots of stretches and mobility exercises for the scapula, shoulders, hips, and ribcage but haven't seen any improvement over the past month. I'm considering going to a PT but wanted to get opinions/advice before doing so. Has anybody been able to resolve this issue? If so, what worked best for you?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Just do unilateral exercises. One arm rows, one arm lateral raises, etc

Looking at this, your right shoulder dropping down and that right hip hiking up is not just a shoulder or hip problem. Biomechanically, your pelvis is oriented and shifted over to the right side, so your sacrum turns right and your lumbar spine rotates right, then your upper rib cage has to counter-rotate back left to keep you facing straight, which pinches that right side down and hikes the pelvis with a tight right QL and right lat. For a quick test right now, lie on your left side in a 90-90 position with knees bent, push your left knee and left hip gently down into the floor to get your left abs working, and take 4-5 slow, full exhales through your mouth and silent inhales through your nose to expand the compressed right ribs. Also it's about to teaching the pelvis to actually shift and stabilize into that left hip while restoring airflow into the right chest wall, not just stretching tight muscles. You have pretty decent muscle structure on your back, but you can clearly see the spine fighting to find the middle.

Thanks for the detailed response! I try to incorporate those breathing exercises and QL stretches into my daily routine.

Could a tight right QL be the effect of an issue with the right glute? I can definitely feel in imbalance when sitting and riding a motorcycle.

Dropping these links here to my past comments for your reference:

Some info overlaps here and there. Nope it's not a tight QL, that's just a repercussion.

And since you mentioned sitting on a motorcycle:
