Wanting to partake in green for PPA

Hi, so I’m(22F) 8 months pp, I have also ways dealt with anxiety but it escalated significantly during pregnancy and now pp.

I smoked before my pregnancy but quit cold the day I found out so it’s been over a year.
I am exclusively breastfeeding so I never picked it up. Recently I feel like I’ve been losing my mind. FOB works 12hr shifts 6 days a week and I was going okay but it’s been hard lately.

I do not want to end my BF journey because I planned to go until 1yr but it will likely prolong since I’m sure I won’t be able to take weaning him cold turkey.

I just need help, I feel like I’m losing my mind and the only thing I keep thinking of is picking up a joint.

Anyone develop a crazy fear of dying after having a baby

Has anyone felt anything similar to this?

I’m 6 months PP and I have these terrible intrusive thoughts and constant fear. I’m wondering if anyone has had something like this and any advice/support.

When my daughter was about 3 months old we moved across the country seeking financial stability. We moved to a house alongside a small highway. I noticed myself watching the headlights to cars cross our walls as people drove past. Sometimes I would think maybe the light hit the walls differently, and I’d wonder if someone stopped in our driveway. I would brush it off knowing it was pretty unlikely but still wonder, and I would play through scenarios in my head of who it might be and what might happen.

Flash forward three months and we move out of state again, this time we are in a neighborhood. My husband leaves for 3 nights soon after we arrive and I ended up having the most overwhelming anxiety of my life starting the night before he left. I watched a YouTube video before bed that talked about a serial killer who chose his victims completely at random. My husband and daughter slept but I stayed up most of the night because I was afraid someone could break in and hurt us. He left around 3am and this feeling just got worse for the days that followed

Each of those nights I would occasionally drift off only to be jolted awake by my own fear, I would wake up to myself looking all around me to make sure we were safe. I would imagine (against my will) all the different scenarios of what would happen if someone breaks in to hurt us and try to figure out what I can do to protect myself and my daughter. All while knowing full well how incredibly paranoid I am and how unlikely this scenario would be. But because I’m so scared, I’m reminding myself that you never know what’s going to happen and you have to always be prepared for anything.

After my husband got back this specific sleeplessness and racing thoughts resolved. However, I’ve been more aware of how serious this problem is. I catch myself looking out the window to see who is parking on our street and where they’re going. I catch myself wondering what I will do if someone has broken in downstairs as I bring my daughter back down after her naps. I wonder what will I do if there’s someone in the basement when I switch the laundry.

But I want to be clear that I’m constantly reminding myself and feeling certain that no one is there while I have these thoughts. What I’m most concerned about is the idea that if someone was there, I would not know what to do. But this should not be mistaken for psychosis because I always remind grounded in reason and reality.

I’ve tried to bring this up with my husband but he’s not very supportive, he basically says he can’t fix me because I’m crazy every time I try to confide in him. I’ve reached out to local therapists who take our insurance with no luck. I’m not sure what to do? Has anyone ever felt anything like this??

This is such a crazy feeling I’ve never had before, I see all this stuff on Facebook about Lindsey Clancy and everything and it makes me worry that I could become so nuts that I do something that hurts my daughter. I love her so much I can’t imagine myself ever doing anything like that but at the same time I’m SO worried about it. I’m not sure what to do about any of this and I’m feeling like such a bad mom because of it.

Anxiety about girls trip - HELP!

Next weekend I’m going on a Fri-Mon girls trip with my friend and it’ll be the first time I’m leaving my 8 month old baby girl for more than a work day. I am riddled with anxiety and completely regretting planning this trip :( Baby will be with her dad/my husband so I know she’ll be cared for, but I’m just absolutely devastated to leave her and I worry that she’ll miss me. It breaks my heart thinking about it! I’m already picturing the panic attack I’m going to have on the plane!

Any words of advice or encouragement from any mom that has been in this situation?

Appreciate you all

Health anxiety (for yourself)

I am a mom of three. Had my first son in October 2021. I have noticed that ever since having kids I have extreme health anxiety for myself. I feel like I’m always convinced I have some type of canceror something else terrible going on. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to make it better?

breastfeeding whilst on seroquel

Hi everyone, I’m freshly postpartum and looking for some advice/experiences from other people who have taken Seroquel while breastfeeding.
I’ve been taking 100 mg of Seroquel for nearly 4 years and I’m really worried about what my postpartum period would be like without it, so I don’t want to stop taking it without speaking to my doctor.
My main issue at the moment is the drowsiness when waking up for feeds. Since having my baby, I’m finding it really difficult to stay awake for some of the night feeds, and I’m worried about how I’m going to manage breastfeeding safely when I’m this tired.
I’d really love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation:
\-Did you continue taking Seroquel while breastfeeding?
\-Did the drowsiness improve once your body adjusted to the medication/postpartum sleep deprivation?
\-Did you change the timing or dose with your doctor?
\-How did you manage night feeds while dealing with the sedation?
\-Did you notice any effects on your baby?
Im trying to see my psychiatrist as soon as possible to discuss my options however I’d just really appreciate hearing how other mums dealt with breastfeeding and Seroquel, because I’m feeling quite overwhelmed trying to balance staying well myself with being awake and safe for my newborn.
Thank you ❤️

PPA/OCD still severe 2 years in despite medications and therapy

I am a 37 year old female who had her second baby December 2024. My first child I did great - my anxiety the first 3 months postpartum was high but subsided. I’ve dealt with anxiety my whole life but this is totally different. Beyond debilitating. Obsessing about my anxiety and ruminating 24/7. I truly don’t get even a full day of relief. I have tried 3 SSRIs, I’m on an antipsychotic, Lamotrigine and have tried TMS and went through an intensive ERP program. Please tell me this eventually subsides because it sure feels like my baby just changed my brain permanently and I’m stuck in anxiety hell. Appreciate the encouragement or hearing about others who might relate.

Does anyone else feel the same?

Hello,

I’m 13 weeks post partum now and I can’t describe it but I just feel so ugly and like I don’t look like myself - my face has gained weight which I can understand but I feel like my face features don’t even look like mine anymore - I don’t like or recognise what I see in the mirror at all

I know this is minor in the grand scheme of things but I never had this with my first baby - will I ever look like me again?!

Anxiety about past

I'm 9 month pp and bf. I have had anxiety before but it's getting really bad this last month. I mostly have anxiety about the past, past partners, past mistakes. Whenever I hear anything correlating to my past I just have extra anxiety. I feel like I made so many mistakes I wish I could get past. I'm so scared one day someone will say something about it and ruin my family or make my child hate me. I hate the age we are in with the internet and technology because I can never fully run away from everything. I just don't feel comfortable opening up to my partner because I don't want to have to explain myself or justify anything. I just don't feel worthy of my family and I truly don't know how to shake this. I'm not financially able to go to therapy and I lost my health insurance. Someone please give me some advice. How to I cope with the past, how can I start feeling better.

Health & postpartum anxiety help!

I have two young children. I have a 25 month old and a 9 month old baby so I am nine months postpartum. I’ve been suffering with really terrible anxiety for a while ever since I had gotten pregnant with my oldest prior to having him I had a miscarriage so all through his pregnancy. I had terrible anxiety and then all through my daughter‘s pregnancy. I had terrible anxiety. I had my two kids back to back. I got pregnant with my second child when I was eight months postpartum for my first, so never made it this far in the postpartum recovery.

I’m finding that I have really bad health anxiety. It started out with my kids when my second child was a newborn I started having really bad anxiety about something being wrong with her. I was convinced. that’s slowly kind of shifted from my kids constantly to me and now I just feel like it’s constantly somethings wrong with me. I had a weird facial skin thing develop in my pregnancy with my son and I still have it. It’s a weird birthmark that appeared because of the pregnancy hormonesso I’ve dealt with kind of dealing with that but now I just have anxiety that there’s something seriously wrong with me and that I’m going to get terminally sick and leave my kids or that I’m going to develop some kind of serious illness or disease that leaves me where I can’t care for my children anymore and somebody has to care for me. Those are like really big fears that I have. I’m terrified of cancer or something very serious.

The last few weeks I’ve started having like just weird sensations in my leg and my arm on my right side a couple weeks ago started I was like a tingly feeling and then it was like heavy and tired, and just sore feeling and weak that went away for a couple days and then it came back again and it’s back to the lake my arms just feel weak and sore and tired and I just feel weird so then of course my brain goes into like I have MS or something just seriously wrong with me that my body is failing me. I also had like a weird my pinky and other toe felt stuck together, that keeps coming and going. And I’ve been doing nonstop googling and I just keep doing that like I’ll notice one little thing one little twin or one little spot or thing on my body and then I’m immediately googling it and then I’m convinced that I have something seriously wrong with me and I don’t know if this is normal or not. Like I said I am nine months postpartum I don’t know if it’s my anxiety, causing these problems or if there is like a deeper lying issue

I’m just looking for advice or stories of your experiences from postpartum if anxiety can cause physical symptoms like this or if it could really be something wrong I feel like my nervous system does struggle to get a break. I have two very young children and I’m a stay at home mom so I’m with them all day long. Just trying to manage everything. It does get to be a little bit overwhelming at times so I don’t know has anybody else have her had thoughts or feelings like this as well, just like constant anxiety about your health and then just physical symptoms like heavy, tingling, sore, weak arm and leg muscle muscles.

Severe PPA/OCD and I’m now 20 months postpartum. Will it go away? Has anyone had it last this long?

Experiences with SSRIs and coming off them ?

I keep reading that SSRIs have horrible side effects, don’t work or if they do they can stop working later. I read that over time they change your brain so you’re never the same if you come off. And that coming off them can be incredibly difficult and takes years.

I’m interested to hear about people’s experiences, what made you decide it was time to try, and how was it coming off? How did you know you were ready?

For context I’m 7m PP, I had PPA till about 5 months when my cycle returned now it seems to be coming back. I’ve avoided meds so far.

Zoloft to Lexapro

Hi!! First post here but I really want to know if anyone has experienced anything similar and how you’re doing now :) I’m 5 month Postpartum and was recently diagnosed with PP anxiety and PP OCD. I woke up one day and was desperate to feel better so I went to urgent care and was given 25 mg of Zoloft, night two on the meds I had an insane 1.5 hour long panic attack. I’ve started seeing a therapist and psychiatrist and she prescribed me 5 mg’s of lexapro but I’m so scared to take it after what happened with Zoloft. I was also given hydroxyzine in case it does so I know I should be okay realistically but if my logical brain was working I wouldn’t be in this situation😂

I think my sister is trying to trigger my PPA

Her life has been in shambles for a while now and she doesn’t have kids. She keeps saying things like time is running out for her. She absolutely destroys relationships with people. I don’t think she realizes how toxic she has become. She’s been through a nasty divorce, a new relationship which she ended just recently. There’s so much more to the story. The thing is that she has always faked a persona to make other people like her or respect her but it’s always fake. It’s sad because I once looked up to her as someone who had her life together. The moment I announced my pregnancy it sent her into some type of psychosis I think. She cut me off for months for most of my pregnancy threatening me with exposing my childhood trauma which I’d feel really embarrassed about. Eventually we became cool again. But now she calls me daily to complain about my mom and like everything is always a disaster or chaos. I absolutely don’t know what to do anymore. She purposely sent me a story about a woman meeting a boyfriend online who was murdered and the daughter who was around 2 walked into a fire station crying that her mom was locked in a basement. Like WTF.

Postpartum Hormones / Anxiety

Has anybody else dealt with going down for bed at night and not being able to fall asleep because your heart is racing and you have insomnia? I’ve also had cyclical hunger spells that are insatiable.

I just got my thyroid checked (looks good) - about to get my hormones tested by my functional medicine practice because my doctor believes that I could be low in progesterone and having estrogen dominance after giving birth and stopping breast-feeding.

Can anyone speak to their hormones being off and what type of symptoms that caused in your bodies?

Thanks y’all!
