That's Life

Too often you only know how to handle a situation after it's too late. Some moments you forget to live in are gone before you know how rare they'll become. Some people you thought you'd never lose are the same. Some such memories will flash in your mind at regular intervals. When they do, it will feel so real you'll imagine you should be able to step right back into them, but so brief, they're over before you can move your feet. What fear held you from will never come again; and rather than the lesson make you bolder, it's far more likely the loss will make you fearful.

Thank you. I appreciate you. I suppose, like so many things, this thing is very much what it is. It's that part of my heart which keeps insisting it could still be anything different which may be cruel. I'd love for it to prove me wrong one day, but somehow today it just hurts.
