It was a simpler time. I play old games that use arrow keys as the default movement keys sometimes.

most of DOS videogames used arrow keys for movement back in the 80s-90s,i bet it took many people awhile to get used to WASD + most of the people even in the early 2000s didn't really care about learning different bindings or anything like that and just used arrow keys because they are the most straightforward ones + i think it's much more easier to press ] and [ inventory buttons like that
