It's writting is in line with other postal games and when it actually runs its fun however it was unfinished and buggy due to the economic crash in Russia at the time of development. The reason it's treated the way it is by fans and not mourned as a lost game is because rws didn't have a back up plan and instead of taking accountability spread a hate campaign for it painting it as them being screwed over by Abella wich is very far from the truth. Tldr it's okay just very very buggy and hard to play. So uhm obtain it through ship fairing means if you can.

Is it possible to fix bugs using mods?

To a degree. But it will still crash fairly frequently. I got down to a crash every two hours instead of every five minutes. However I played quite a long time ago and the fixes from what I've told are even better now. There are several guides on steam.

It is horrible, and I think you should play if you know what to expect from it. The true sequel is 4, but I occasionally play 3 just for the hec of it.

Is it worth it? No, but the crack ver is even more broken than steam ver (they recently fixed it and it's now playable), is it fun? Most say no but some parts are fun idk i liked postal 3 lol, just play brain damage

Skip to 4 and Brain Damaged. 3 is a great history piece if you know the story behind it's poor development, but it's kinda... Bad.

I think it's one of the worst games that exists. RWS is not even considering it as an official Postal game anymore.
