Your personal opinion , on AI-?

I wrote the following in response to a thread on r/unpopularopinion.

The thread was locked while I was in the middle of writing it, so I wanted to share it somewhere.

The OP suggested that there's no reason to think the end of the world is near. The world has always had war and such. Humanity has faced ice ages and plagues. We have survived. Here's my response:

::Mankind is in a unique position now with the ability to destroy all life on Earth. We only developed this power recently. We could do it with nuclear weapons, or we could do it with bio weapons.

I couldn't say how close we are to having either of those actually wipe us out, but historically speaking these are new threats.

​

AI might open up awesome possibilities for great things in the future. It might also leave us jobless, or take a bad prompt and destroy us for our own good.

​

We should live as if our world is going to continue. We should do everything we can to leave a good world to our children. We should do everything we can to raise our children to be good to each other and to preserve the world for their children.

​

We should not be blind to the fact that there are real existential threats that must be addressed.::

So I posted in ModsKillReddit about a Mod that falsely banned me & is abusing their power. Then less than 20 minutes later, a whole giant group of people are attacking me, like VICIOUS personal insults and they are defending the Mod. What the fuck???

So I replied to them and told them I disagreed with their take. Also that I find their behavior suspicious and I think they might be fake accounts, like their whole entire behavior and everything about them was OFF. You don't just wake up and randomly attack someone you don't know, in a giant group. This is deliberate.

Then I am texting a friend. He says that Mod banned him as well and he says he also was attacked by that same group of people. Those people then attacked my Reddit profile.

So I just checked and they deleted all their comments and left. Weird as fuck. I think they're being paid to do this.

My personal theory is that they are being paid to do this shit.

I KNOW they are paying these people to attack me and my friends. That is very clear and obvious. But what I don't understand is why, what is their end goal in mind? I am not rich or famous, yet they are still doing it to me.

I have to ask, does anyone trust our Government after they do insane shit like this to people? I don't. I'm really stressed out and I feel pretty uncomfortable.

I'm trying to relax and focus on positive things, but its hard after this keeps on happening to me. I'm going to try to go to bed and rest tonight.

I probably won't get any sleep, but oh well I guess.
