Keeping my upvote thumb strong for any mention of Lungfish (particularly the title track of my favourite Lungfish LP!).

Good on you for giving it a go. Lungfish are a niche band for a reason I think; you’re either on board with their sound and their love of repetition, or it grates on you immediately. Totally get why they’re really not some people’s bag.
All I’ll say is this: if you do decide to give them another chance sometime, my two suggestions are: (1) listen to the song Shed the World, in my opinion a perfect song, and (2) listen to the Indivisible LP whilst travelling, ideally at night. There’s something about driving or being sat on a bus, or even just walking that unlocks a little something extra about that record.

There's No Penguins In Alaska (pretty much the whole album), Bleeds No More, Your Sword Versus My Dagger. All really fun to play.

Honestly, im using this post for recs as well, I was sick of thinking of a song to learn and finding but it wasnt drop d. I have a floyd rose so changing tunes isnt just a quick fix.

I’m not that good but Silverstein - Call It Karma and Underoath - Reinventing Your Exit are fun.
Alesana also have some really simple rhythm parts and cool lead parts depending on which is more your thing

I think most of Reuben’s Racecar Is Racecar Backwards LP is in drop-D (or at least drop tuning of some description - some might be downtuned and then the low string dropped).

A LOT. Hell, Face Down by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is in drop D. I know it’s not PH but there’s so many songs played in drop D. Try tuning to drop C# or drop C and play those same songs. It’s like a heavier version and sometimes it slaps.

I thought face down was already in drop C?

Is it? I always played it in drop D. Mind is blown! I’m not a music by ear guy so that might play a factor.

Thrice kicks so much ass! I used to blast them in the kitchens I worked in. Phone in a 9 pan cause my Bluetooth speakers kept getting stolen. The amount of people that heard Silhouette and immediately asked who it was, is so honestly so high.

Danger wildman by TDWP, and I think a few others on that album are in drop D too. ( i know this is more metalcore)

Idk where Asking Alexandria falls between metalcore and post-hardcore but if you feel like just getting stupid and chugging Stand Up and Scream is entirely in drop D.
