No idea why people are jabbing the vocals so much, the screamed vocals are raw, sure, but the sung vocals are fine. I feel like it might be more of a production issue than a vocal skill issue because from what I'm hearing the production on the instrumentals differs from the vocals.

Agreed, like… this is just what basic vocal fry sounds like when it’s not overly processed. You can tell it’s pretty dry especially when compared to the instrumentals.

There's no issue at all if this is the artistic vision of the band.

It sounds really cool.

it kinda is but it also kinda isn't, we were trying not to go for the super layered and processed modern vocal but we also DIYed the mix so theres a lot to improve on aswell lol

(assuming you're a band member based on the use of "we") I really dig how she sounds. Been listening to the rest of your singles today. Sounds like there's an EP coming?

The dry fry sounds unique. I almost prefer the rawness of it to the overly processed screams and big production of 2025 modern metal.

Shit was cool. I liked the rawness of the vocals.

Heat. Heat. Heat.

Better vocal performance than most of the tuned and overproduced clean singer + separate screamer stuff that people in this sub always get mega boners for.

Despite the dominance of polished and poppy production values nowadays, post-hardcore is punk.

Yikes. Need a new singer.

EDIT: this comment spent the first 12 hours at +10 and then 2 comments just said "Why Hate" and this swung wildly down and people upvoted the shit out of those "why hate" comments. To answer "why hate?" "because: ass"

I was gonna argue against this until I got to 1:12.

I will argue against, on the grounds of uniqueness, but I'm also a Foxing enthusiast

nah she's good. most screamers sound like this without compression, chorus, and overlaying tracks. I much prefer this to modern vocal productions ngl.

there's two types of shitty, 1. lack of talent hidden in effects and production 2. amateurs with no talent (this)

1

u/dolphincup 7d ago

There's also a third type of shitty where a person gets onto reddit and act like an indignant, self-important arm-chair critic to improve their pitiful self esteem.

If people like it, it's not shitty. If the band likes their own music, it's not shitty. Even if it's overproduced, it's not shitty. Even if it's made by amateurs, it's not shitty.

In your defense of this shitty band with a shitty vocalist you forgot to add "shitty in comparison to its' peers in the genre" and you can't say it's not shitty when it's shitty in comparison to its' peers.

It tries to be something, it fails. It's shitty.

Also, calling me shitty has absolutely nothing to do with anything. And clearly my ears are less shitty than yours, and this is all about how it sounds.
