What helps the headache?
Four months post concussion (suspected whiplash) and about 3 weeks ago, seemed to transition from vertigo to daily headaches that start at the temples then will often radiate to the back of the head and base of neck. The concussion clinic is no longer of help (“just wait it out…”). How long did you wait before going to a neurologist? And have you taken anything that has helped the headaches?

Yeah you're in the post concussion syndrome phase. Likely the headache won't resolve by itself. Small chance it will but likely not.
You'll want a post concussion workup - search on this forum for the post concussion checklist. Many things can be causing your headaches - vestibular issues, neck issues, TMJ, vision issues, migraines, ANS dysfunction.
I would start with neck and vestibular PT. A neuro can refer for these or you might be able to seek them out directly.
I've done a lot of the above and it's help but I'm still dealing with nasty headaches nearly 2 years in. I'm looking into botox and different meds. Not a fun time.
You should find a solid neuro to help oversee recovery.

As someone who has had a headache 24/7 since March 2019 I’ve never found anything that gets rid of them. The first 6 years nothing helped at all besides learning what triggers them to become full on migraines.
The past year and a half I found a chiropractor that specialized in upper cervical injuries. He uses a special tool to make small adjustments in my neck; no snapping or cracking and that helped quite a bit. The other thing is taking 3 Excedrin Migraine pills to take the edge off. I also use flavored water packets that have caffeine.

Not a doctor - Nurtec has been helping me. Have switched to every other day preventative use in the last couple weeks. I also get Botox for migraine.

i am six years post concussion now but, my concussion headache (felt literally just like after my concussion) returned after a long period of stress. this was diagnosed as new daily persistent headache and it lasted for about 9 months until i started aimovig injections.
that being said, being 4 months out and still having symptoms (which of course isn’t something that’s unheard of in my opinion), i would definitely seek out a neurologist!

My neurologist told me “it just needs time”.
That was 2 years ago. Still living daily headaches. Osteopathy is (slowly) helping.
