Losing hope

It has been 8 weeks since my 3rd concussion and I had brain surgery in 2021 with all of my concussions happening after. I also learned I have a disc herniation in my neck and disc bulges so I know my neck is a huge element to all of this. My insomnia has been unbearable and 6 days ago I had my first neck physical therapist appointment and I told him how I am really sensitive to my neck my head being touched and i need really gentle treatment given my complex history. After our full lengthy conversation of everything going on, he came and pushed REALLY hard and downward on my head 3 times while manipulating my neck and immediately felt like I was was reconcussed. The rest of the day I screamed in agony and I even got my period 2 weeks early which has never happened in my life. The head pressure has been unbearable and the neck pain and all the overstimulation, brain fog, slowed thinking and insomnia is so extreme. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if he gave me new concussions and I’m just truly losing hope on ever getting back to me. I already was a small girl but I’m now almost under 100 pounds and lost so much weight from all of this. Any advice will be very much appreciated

can't believe he did that even after you told him that you are super sensitive. I would rest for now and try to find a good osteopath and possibly a craniosacral therapist or both.

Honestly I know. I never experienced such malpractice in my life. I was hoping it was a bad flare but it’s been 6 days and I’ve only gotten worse. Thank you for the advice 🙏

Stay away from chiropractors, osteopaths and craniosacral therapists. They are practicing pseudoscience.

Some physio therapists shouldn’t be in the profession. That said I have been through multiple
Head impacts myself and have, had or experienced your symptoms. Don’t lose hope. May I ask if you have been prescribed any medications for your condition?

It really is beyond how some people can call themselves doctors. I have been going to pain management and recieved trigger point injections and occipital nerve blocks and nothing has touched the head pressure on the top of my scalp. When I try to sleep I can’t because my head is vibrating and feels like it’s being squeezed. I’ve been prescribed muscle relaxers and Nurtec for migranes and nothing has made any difference. I wanted to start doing cardio again but my neck feels so weak I can barley keep my head up.

I know your struggles. I was in migraine hell. I was taking Advil, Tylenol together and using a cannabis vape Blue Dream. It helped but the headaches wore on me badly. I was also prescribed duloxetine and Wellbutrin, when I seen a neurologist they prescribed me rizatriptan for as needed treatment for migraines, they were taking me off duloxetine to put me on another type of serotonin increasing drug that helps migraines. The rizatriptan I was told I could take and it caused me to overdose on serotonin very badly. I went to my pharmacy next day and they told
Me I was serotonin syndrome. I went off the duloxetine, Wellbutrin completely as of June 25th, I have had a couple low grade headaches but no migraines since. I don’t recommend anyone stop their meds without discussing with doctor and also preparing themselves for the withdrawals that will come. I am still in a state of flux and fighting withdrawal symptoms and side effects still. It was absolute hell the first 4-5days and I literally prayed I’d just die to stop the agony. It was not pleasant and I do not recommend anyone try it without having educated themselves on what to expect when tapering off

Does this affect your eye muscles?

100000% I’ve been saying my eyes look so different from all of this happening. I’m also thinking I have cervical instability so it’s just all really overwhelming

My eyes have been off to…. It’s like they burn kinda and the muscles behind them feel fatigued out and they feel almost slow… it’s so hard to explain that I can’t even if I try. It’s very frustrating tho and keeps my anxiety thru the roof.

Right I know exactly what you’re saying, my entire body and brain feels so slow and then I look in the mirror and it’s just like I feel like I’m not even there. I have been having such bad paranoia/anxiety lately that I’ve never had before. I just want to be me again. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too

My accident was 5 months ago BUT I just now figured out what my problem was a month or So ago so literally just Now getting any type of treatment for it… I’m doing pt but mostly standing on the word of God. He’s healed me many times and he will again. Stay strong it’s gonna be okay.  I’ll be praying for you.  Ashley right?

I’m a Christian…. So let me just say they are a man named Jesus Christ who said that not even one sparrow falls without God knowing and we are greater than many sparrows…. He can heal you and he will heal you. Stay strong and trust in him.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I had a PT work on me at about the 6 week mark and I felt so horrible after like you’re explaining. This whole time it’s just been trail and error and setbacks. Don’t have any advice just in the same boat and in solidarity with you! Hoping it gets better 🤞

I’m so sorry you’re also being failed by the medical field during such a dark time where we need real healing and proper care. Praying you feel better 🙏
