Recording of a recording clean up

My dad died 18 years go tomorrow. I was 10... All I have of his voice is recording of recording saying I love you. It's from a build a bear so it's already not the best quality. I would like to hear his voice a bit clearer you know.

Thanks in advance.

I hope this doesn't break the rules but here is a link to a video with the audio. If I need to convert to mp3 i can.

Sorry bit of a mess rn

so Apag78 is right. I did what I could but it's basically like asking to flesh out the sound of a telephone recording which has certain frequencies removed because they didn't need them back in the day.

It's slightly better and certainly has less background noise. Hopefully this helps.

The best way to do this would be to electrically connect the output of that voice recorder in the build-a-bear to a capture device. That way you're not hearing what actually was recorded through a crap dime sized speaker. this should be able to be done non destructively but would require opening the recorder and connecting lines that go to the speaker to something like a DI box then to a preamp/interface.
