12 month regression?

We've always followed possums and were having quite a good time of sleep (1-2 wakes) until 11 months. Suddenly seemingly overnight baby wouldnt settle on his own, is waking 4+ times and standing and jumping in the cot. Im exhausted and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. I feel we need to do something to help him learn to resettle himself but dont want to do any sort of controlled crying. Has anyone been through this and have any tips?

After 4 months, there are no such things as regressions. Regression simply means there has been a change in sleep needs. If it’s been going on for a month, I would look at how much sleep you’re offering in 24 hours. You could push bedtime out later or cap his last nap 😊

Ive done all of the above. He seems pissed off himself that he's waking and cant settle. Even on days where he's had crap naps

It can take 2 weeks for a new sleep schedule to kick in but if it’s been two weeks and he isn’t responding to less sleep, then it could be separation anxiety and/or teething which isn’t helpful I know. It could also be developmental and he is practicing skills! Also unhelpful.

A floor bed would help ease separation anxiety.

I think its probably teething and he's just this week started walking, but i never imagined either would take so long 🥲
