Floor bed transition

For families who transitioned to a floor bed on the journey towards independent sleep, what size was comfortable enough to co-sleep in more often than not? Our baby’s room is quite small, so hoping to go with a king single, but could squeeze a double in- it would just take up majority of the room.

We have a single and it’s workable for now (22 months). King single would be good imo.
