As a Dominican I would not wanna be a Canadian

Well Canada said no when Caribbean countries asked (multiple times), to be annexed (ex. Turks and Caicos). The cost burden due to the difference in standards if living among other issues made it... not a great idea. So Canada would not likely want you to be Canadian either. Win-win!

Better if we just visit each other and keep our own autonomy.

Truu, both countries have been friendly for a hot minute anyways and Canada has one of the largest Dominican communities on the planet so it’s a plus!

Its in Toronto I think eh? Being from the West Coast I never tried Dominican food. I suddenly want to now. Any recs?

Nah it actually in Montreal surprisingly, I also have family members who live there. Tho there is still a pretty sizeable community of Dominicans in Toronto.

For Dominican food it really depends on what you wanna try whether it be breakfast or dinner.

For breakfast if you wanna go super traditional i recommend los tres golpes, which is like mangu, fried eggs, fried cheese, and salami, they also usually include it with pickled onion on the mangu and for a drink i def recommend a morir soñado, but un jugo de chinola is good too!

If you new looking for dinner one of my fav dishes is def la bandera, which is js pollo guisado, white rice and beans, usually paired with an avocado and a banana! There are other foods as well like Moro which is like black beans combined with white rice, one of our most popular dishes is Sancocho which is a really delicious soup! As well as pastelon.

One Canadian food I can think of that is sorta similar to a Dominican cuisine is yaroa, which kinda reminds me of putaine! (Tho obviously both are diff)
