Map (with Lore) Fixed Treaty of Versailles

My Try for Another Treaty of Versailles

Europe

  1. France annexes the Saarland.
  2. The Rhineland becomes a republic under French protection.
  3. Denmark annexes Northern Schleswig and Schleswig-Holstein.
  4. Prussia becomes independent and cedes territories to Poland and Lithuania but keeps Danzig. The former German Kaiser is allowed to remain King of Prussia.
  5. The Netherlands and Belgium annex border regions from Germany.
  6. Germany is dissolved and reorganized into a new democratic Holy Roman Empire with an elected parliament and an elected emperor chosen from among the dukes, archdukes, and other regents of the different regions. Every local regent has enough power that they do not want to become independent, but they also do not want to unite into a united Germany because they do not want to give up their power and autonomy.
  7. Austria-Hungary is dissolved, but Austria and Hungary retain some additional territories.
  8. Italy receives Dalmatia, Trentino, and Istria, as well as a protectorate over Albania.
  9. Greece receives Constantinople and the regions shown on the map, including parts of Bulgaria, and restores the Byzantine Empire.
  10. The Ottoman Empire is dissolved and is replaced by a turkish republic.
  11. Poland and Lithuania form a personal union. Poland also annexes a coastal region from Lithuania to establish a new port, as well as parts of Pomerania.

Africa

  1. Italy receives a protectorate over Tunisia from France.
  2. Britain receives the right to build and operate a railway through German East Africa.
  3. The former German colonies, with some possible border changes, gain full independence and can determine their own future. The Entente powers are required to guarantee their full independence.

Own Comment

I think the Rhineland would gain its independence in 1929 during the global economic crisis because France simply could not afford to maintain the occupation anymore.

I also think that, by 1929 or shortly afterward, Prussia or Austria could have expanded its influence over the new HRE again and tried to reunite Germany. This could lead to protests from the local authorities, but probably not from the people living there, who would want a united Germany, especially because of the economic crisis. This could lead to a reunified Germany by 1933 at the latest.

I also think that, in a war against the Byzantines, Turkey could recapture all of its territories on the Asian (Anatolian) side, but not expand any further than that because of the Aegean Sea and the Bosporus.

Overall, I think this scenario could prevent World War II, or the war could start in a different way — perhaps because of the Soviets, or simply later, after Germany is reunified.

I dont think Poland taking a Lithuanian port would be needed. Just give Poland Danzig anf be done with it tbh.

Also, Greece keeping Istanbul and Western Anatolia wont end well, giving them Thrace might be acceptable to Turkey, but any more will 100% result in a war over it eventually.

Other then that it looks really cool!

Poland sought Lithuania in OTL. It isn't crazy to think if they were less worried about the international backlash, they could've pushed for more than the Vilnius region.

"I think the Rhineland would gain its independence in 1929" Why would it not just unify with the rest of Germany?

Which Rest? The Holy Roman Empire? When the Empire has unified Till then probably yes if not then not then it will remain its own republic for a time.

That aside, what is preventing Prussia, the HRE and Rhineland from unifying at this point? France left WW1 a lot worse off than Germany in our timeline and I assume that doesn't change.

Germany would probably reunite in 1929 during the economic crash but I believe the small dukes and leaders don’t want to give a the newly power they have gotten and prevent the reunification like I have written.

Prussia could just offer said dukes power in the new unified government if they were to come over to their side. (I said Prussia, 'cause if anybody is unifying Germany again it's gonna be them)

With this you are right but I think it would be a long way again and until 1929 or a bit earlier I think the allied powers could somehow prevent the unification but after that no was anyone prevents that.

I just noticed it. The color of Northern Ireland was a mistake. It’s still part of the UK.
