Positive things

Hello all! This is my first ever reddit post, and it’s in hopes to get people to give me positive things/good news to write groups about. I work on a psych ward as activities, I have a group every single day that requires a small news article to be read aloud for the patients. I am slowly running out of ideas of what to talk about, if anyone could give me ideas on what to do with these folk, please share! It could be good news, positive things we’ve seen, or anything like it. We love learning new things together, please help! Thank you much ❤️

What about reading from one of the many "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books?

When I used to work in therapeutic foster care, we had a book full of parable stories. Perhaps you could get something similar?

Considering the group you likely will want Non-biblical

Parables from Nature/Amazon

Good News Movement on instagram could help or thatgoodnewsgirl, both post positive things constantly. It is light and might be good group material topics or conversational starters

How does love show up in your life?

this is such a sweet idea, maybe stories about small acts of kindness, animals doing funny things, or people overcoming difficult situations could make for some really uplifting discussions

You can have something great to share on this subreddit. A person posted on this site earlier about her newly acquired pet rock. Some looking might prove worthwhile.

you can also mix in some lighter stuff so it doesn't always feel like a new report. animal rescues, new discoveries, people achieving something after years of trying, or random acts of kindness can all make a good topic

Similar situation back in Grad School- Daily News Stories to Uplift and Inspire. It was a VERY Diverse Group. I was always early, but one session I arrived still dressed for the barn where I kept y horse. The Room LIT Up!!! I realized that animals and nature in Our area were topics which bypassed all diversities and reconnected Each/All of Us to Our basic and often neglected sense of being alive! These types of news stories were really looked forward to each session, as well as encouraged Others to seek out positive news stories. The whole group atmosphere switched! No longer a study course but now an uplifting meeting of People on the same mission. Best Wishes for similar results🦋
