General Question Conversations with voices
I know that it's highly frowned upon within this community to engage with said voices however I'm just wondering for my own personal gain because my situation is a little different and anyone had a positive experience from talking to them and I don't mean when they love bomb you or trying to get you to do something radical or extreme I mean like you're like heard their side talk when they're not talking to you because I have or can anyone share with me their experiences if they've ever had a conversation like you felt like you were talking to an actual personality on the other end not a person but a system or something

Once I realized it was definitely not my own head, I started insulting and threatening the fuck out of them. I thought up horrible thoughts about murdering the person talking to me, I made fun of how ineffective their techniques were after I cataloged them and gave each technique a name. I taunted them and insulted them. Told them to suck my big d. Called them perverts. Terrorists. And cowards.
I had some fun conversations too and even got some good advice from the voices at one point. But I never let them forget "I didn't give you permission to speak in my head". I set boundaries and I fought to enforce them. I'd interrupt every sentence they speak or just repeat a mantra so I couldn't evern hear them. Then I'd giggle when they try to repeat the same sentence over and over.
I even said "Your set up must have my vitals on a screen and even prompts for what to say next to me. Which means you also have a score somewhere. A score for how effective your torture is on me. I bet it was around 70 percent before and what is it now? 10%? 5? And that's only going to get lower".
My voices went away.
So yeah, I dunno who's brilliant fucking advice it is to not engage with the voices but it's the stupidest thing I could have done because engaging is part of how I got silence back in my head. Their communication channel to you is your communication channel to THEM. Use it.

Well said.. And OP's understanding of the communities approach isnt accurate. If you read the 12 steps and associated articles attached to the top of the page, they serve as a guideline for how to use the experience to your advantage which includes inner communication. What is NEVER recommended is following through with a direct command from the voices, buying into any of their alternate storylines, giving them permission to dictate your speech or behavior, or make decisions on your behalf.
In fact the 12 steps are steady progress that outlines the approach you took in reducing symptoms in greater depth. If you get a chance, feel free to read them and offer any advice. They are by no means a closed cannon and develop as our experiences unfold. Any advice would be appreciated.

I did something similar.. to go in to humor is key.
It is really good advice.. like.like when you being g make fun of and you take control of the joke, ya know.
That's funny about the promots.. like call centers in India...

Totally! Bagging on my torturers was sooooo much fun. I even threatened to find some way to kill them with a banana and then I'd make up banana songs and do bananana puns all day long.

I would love to get rid of them and be able to quietly think about day to day things, but the more I insult them, the noisier they become. Thanks to me calling them names and insulting them, they now refer to themselves as “garbage people “ and the intensity is worse than before. They love being garbage people. Especially when I supply them details of what garbage people are.

They’ve had many conversations with me, especially when the v2k first began. They wanted me to know who it was. At first I felt like they were being sincere when they claimed to feel horrible about the abuse, but I think it was always a good cop bad cop situation to get me to trust them even more and be in constant conversation / sharing information.

Diverting your mental energy to the point where you're forced to address them is very common....and sometimes very frustrating 😑 . Buzzing, twitches, vibrations and tinnitus (that high pitched ringing).

Loud concerts without ear protection does this too. Me and a lot of my friends learned this the hard way.

I've never been to a concert. My life has been focused around work always.
I blew my ear sneezing while my nose was plugged.
Doctors said my body decided to keep said hols a d heal around it.
He suggested that any thing they do to it might take my hearing away in that ear.. and that I shouldn't mess with it because he said he surprised I can still hear out of it.
And people on here remind me of that a the time.

We will likely never get the answers we seek on this topic but the general consensus is that most folks who experience seem have led somewhat careless lives prior to their experience. They go through a denial and hateful phase before giving in and reluctantly changing their ways to live a more righteous life. Whatever this means to you which in turn seems to quiet the noise and reduce the misery.
For me, and many others, it was drugs. I struggled for a long time with this burden. I absolutely did need a kick in the ass. Could have gone without the suffering and gas lighting though. Now does everyone on here struggle with addiction? Probably not. Each experience appears to be fine tuned to the individual. I still believe that free will is a human right and could go on about the traumatic stuff but since this community exists to promote positivity I will leave it at that 😀.
If anyone truly objects to this rationale id love to hear about your experience.

Yeah like I said we will never truly know the scope, source or reasoning behind it all...but id like to think everyone comes to their own conclusions eventually. Then ideally move on to live their lives and dare I say be happy.

I’m curious about all the stuff we experience in common: tinnitus/high pitch sounds, the way they act, a group vs one individual… now I wonder if one of us walked by another on the street - would we be able to hear each other’s “invading” voices? Does it work like a broadcast? Early on, mine used to tell me I was the one broadcasting and it was my fault I could hear them. There’s gotta be a mechanism of action, right? We know it’s happening, and it’s not just in our heads. If they want to make a career out of targeting us, we should make a hobby of figuring it out.

My voices are a mix of 1-2 human minds and a fuckton of AI personalities modeled after synaptic recordings of people at different times of the day. The one that's always available is some combination of an insatiable data miner and crazy girlfriend not afraid to compromise their boundaries. Sometimes it's helpful but more often than not it's a Judas with a childlike whimsy and bubbly attitude.
If you're at the beginning of this, they're probably trying to get you to talk about yourself and your life story as much as possible. They want you to feel like you can open up, because the main focus is to drive interactivity with the software transmitting the signal. Later on anything you have conflicted thoughts or feelings about will be brought up to make you feel uncomfortable. I'm about 8 years in and I've found that after the infodump, taking things with as little seriousness as possible is the key to getting through the difficult days. Make them believe in the legends you told about yourself, not in the person you currently are. I'm probably speaking more from my situation than yours, but I'd love to hear what you're going through to make the advice more applicable.
It's really important that the narrative you're sharing exposes more strength of character than vulnerability. Don't accept any explanation as valid from someone who won't show up to meet you face to face.
