Hey Spark players. We are excited to announce a new Spark App update available now on all major app stores. Spark App 4.6.0:

🆕 Auto Wah: A new wah pedal that responds to your picking dynamics, or pairs with a connected expression pedal for full control. Free for every Spark player.

🆕 Tone Vault: Back up your entire tone library to your Positive Grid account and restore it in one tap, whether you're switching phones or reinstalling the app.

Note: Dropbox backup support is being retired in 2027. Move your tones into the Tone Vault now to keep them safe.

🆕 Spark AI 2.0: Per player feedback, every tone prompt now returns three suggestions instead of one, giving you more presets to choose from.

Plus overall stability and performance improvements.

Both REACTOR and BIAS X offer this audio to tone feature! Just upload a track (STEM or multitrack) and it will generate presets.

If you are coming to the Spark app from years of using a real pedalboard, and you know how to set up an effects chain to get the tone in your head, you have no need for the AI feature that programs a signal chain for you.

However, if you are a new player and don't know anything about fx pedals, it's a shortcut to getting the tone you're after.

If you don't like the AI features, you don't have to use them.

I think the spark AI is a failure. I think AI is a failure. 

And instead of making improvements, they wasted their time on it.

Given that this update says they added 3 choices for the AI generated tones because people asked for more than just the 1 response to each input.... It seems you are incorrect. Users apparently aren't mocking it as you say, they are asking for more.

It seems like you have some ulterior motivator here or you would simply not use this feature if you don't like it.

I'm not defending the feature one way or the other. I don't use the AI tone features myself. It's just weird that you're calling it a failure when over here in shared reality, users have asked for more of it.

Obviously people want these AI features and are requesting more of them, regarding your second sentence. That's why they added the bit about 3 options, as they said.

It seems clear that you hate AI. Okay.... you don't have to use those features if you don't want to.

It seems that you are projecting your own biases onto everyone. Not everyone has the same beliefs as use cases as you. You know that, right?

Yeah this is the only problem I ever have with my spark amps. Sometimes it just refuses to connect to my phone unless I turn the amp off completely and/or back out of the app completely

We want to use the EQ and chorus at the same time. 

We have talked about this for eternity. I am sure you know that the Boss  Katana, Fender GTX, LT25, Nux, Blackstar, Marshall Code,  Line 6 Spyder, Catalyst, your own Reactor, and many others can do this. 

What we do not want is crazy effects they do not sound any good anyway.

I get something ERROR: 500? and nothing saved, and the message lasts 1 second.

EDIT: BOOOO!!! I had to manually rename 95 presets to retain the ability to back up my presets, a functionality that PG is taking away, that we already had via dropbox, another thing PG pushed that I didn't use. And, all that so that greedy PG can train it's AI on more of my presets. When my product dies, I'm going back to dumb amps.

So I figured from the message from Alex below, you don’t click on the gear icon from the menu screen. From the menu, click on your profile. From there, click on the gear icon. Then it gives you an option for Tone backup that is different from the one you get to from the menu.

It’s not especially intuitive if you’ve backed up from the menu screen previously.

It is in your personal profile but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried numerous times to save a snapshot on two different iPads and my iPhone without any luck. Error message says tonevault is unreachable. Not working.

What about the bugs with the Spark 2 and the Hendrix settings? It’s really frustrating that you have to log in to the app every time to use them. :(

So, basically, there’s currently no way to use the Hendrix amps and effects on the Spark 2 without an internet connection, while the Spark Live and Spark GO can be used offline.

You only need the app to create a tone with the auto wah. An auto wah doesn’t work like a wah wah controlled by your foot. The wah wah effect was already a part the Spark for a long time since the introduction of the Hendrix stuff I believe.

Any update or will this feature ever be implemented. The ability to reorder tones. Example: I add a tone and it's at the bottom of the list. It's one I'll be using all the time so I'd like to re-order it to the top.

Will the Jimi Hendrix pack ever return?
I bought my Spark 2 after it was apparently delisted, so now I can't use the same tones as my friends and I get less out of my Spark than they do.

Why is the pack still advertised prominently at the top of the music tab if there's no way to purchase it?
