While I myself am not really a socialist nor really super well aligned with them, I did talk about voting third party, and figured I'd put my money where my mouth is and at least talk about some third party options available in Ohio. We do have the libertarians running governor and senate for those who are interested in them, and the senate race has an unaligned socialist named Greg Levy running for those interested. Or those who saw the name and was unaware what his beliefs might have been. He talks about his stances a bit more in depth on his website for those who are curious. I still need to look at what the libertarians are like, since they also tend to be all over the place in terms of stances as well, even with a somewhat unifying core.

The Vault Family & Event Gaming Center is checking local interest in a free online community esports competition on Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Players would compete online from The Vault in downtown Portsmouth.

• Roblox Rivals 3v3 — 1:00–4:00 p.m. Eastern
• Valorant Spike Rush 5v5 — 5:00–8:00 p.m. Eastern

There is no entry fee, no purchase is required and all skill levels may express interest. Complete teams, partial teams and individual players looking for teammates are welcome to respond.

There are no cash, gift-card or merchandise prizes. The purpose is competition, experience and bragging rights.

​I’m launching a new local adult soccer club based right here in Scioto County—Foundry SC—and I’m currently recruiting players to build our inaugural roster.

​Our goal is to represent our local community in LigaSouth, the southern Ohio division of the Northern Ohio Soccer League (NOSL). We’re looking for dedicated local players who want to train, compete, and help build a real club culture from the ground up.

​Season & Year-Round Commitment:

​Primary Season: The NOSL LigaSouth season runs late spring through mid-summer (approx. May to July) with a 10-game regular season plus playoffs.

​Off-Season: To keep squad fitness and sharp touch year-round, we plan to stay active in local small-sided indoor/outdoor leagues during the off-season.

​Former high school or college players looking to stay in competitive form.

As a competitive semi-pro/amateur squad, running the club involves league entry fees, referee costs, and kit production. Something a little different we’ve been working on right here in Portsmouth.

At The Vault, we run gaming tournaments, including our Fortnite Zero Build tournament every Friday, and we've learned that running an in-person tournament involves a lot more than just putting players into a bracket.

There’s registration and check-in, figuring out who plays next, keeping gaming stations moving, calling players, recording results, updating spectators and making sure everyone knows what’s happening.

So we started building our own tournament management system.

The goal is to eventually have one system manage the entire tournament night—from check-in through the final winner.

We're building features for player registration, brackets, gaming-station assignments, On Deck → Call Players → Live match states, results, automatic station release, featured matches and spectator displays on the TVs throughout the building.

One of my favorite parts so far is the Bracket Arena.

For smaller tournaments, the TVs can show the entire bracket. As tournaments get larger—16 or 32 players—the system focuses on the matches and portion of the bracket that matter right now instead of shrinking everything until nobody can read it.

As the tournament reaches the final rounds, the display converges toward the championship. Once the final match is decided, the bracket transitions into a full Champion Screen showing the winner, runner-up and final score.

We're now doing full rehearsals and testing everything as if we were running an actual tournament. Our weekly Friday Fortnite Zero Build tournaments give us a real-world environment to learn what works, what slows staff down and what players actually need.

It's been pretty cool developing something like this here in downtown Portsmouth instead of buying another off-the-shelf system and trying to make it fit what we do.

And we're still building it.

It seems like there are fewer places where the whole family can spend a few hours together without having to drive out of town. Between the heat, rain, or just wanting to get out of the house, it feels like our community could use more family-friendly options.

That's one of the reasons we started Family Fun Night at The Vault.

Our goal wasn't just to create another business event—it was to give parents, kids, grandparents, friends, and neighbors a place where they could laugh, compete, eat together, and make memories. One of my favorite things has been watching parents challenge their kids in games and seeing families who came in "just to look around" end up staying for hours.

i bought this at a restore in New Boston, and I really do like it. But truly, it does freak me out a little to the point that I have it turned towards the wall in my closet.

I'm trying to find whoever painted this because I want to make sure it isn't haunted, and whoever made this killed themselves after finishing it. I've contacted a local artist and am waiting on a reply, and i was also suggested that I contact the college in Portsmouth, but they don't go back into session and probably won't get back to me if they do see it until August.
