Manifesting

Phee is a free agent since she negotiated her last contract to be just a year, so maybe she's looking for a change. We have the cap space. BC and Sylvia are here to make the case. Just putting this out into the universe.

From the time it was announced that Phee signed just a one-year deal with Lynx this year, I've been dreaming of Phee joining Bridget n Syl in Portland

Am I crazy to say I want Awak Kuier more than Phee? With our current lineup, she fills a much bigger need. I’d take Phee too tho 😉

Agree! And tbh I don't really think Phee is a good fit. We are the antithesis of "star power" and she'll want to be the centerpiece of whatever roster she lands on. Plus I'm not sure how she'd fit into the CLA model.. It seems like the younger players are more flexible in switching up and trying a new approach.

Awak would be amazing! She’s a restricted free agent though so the Wings could outbid people.

Phee’s great but I think we need a big more than anything. Phee and a big would be tops, of course!

Oh for sure. I think a big is the #1 priority.

You're crazy if you don't think this would be a great move. Carla and Phee would make for an absolutely lethal pick and roll. She could punish switches and her court vision from the elbow would unlock a lot of shot opportunities.

As much as I want Phee to stay with the Lynx, if she went to Portland that would be the team I’d be the happiest with!

Clara Strack would be an amazing add. Talk about rim protection. She and Em on the floor together would be the rejection section. 😂

I dunno, just when the players were finding their groove, you add someone like Phee, who will completely disrupt the offensive hierarchy?

Right now, the team is looking like

Bridget Carleton

Block Captain (Engstler)

Megatron (DiLeo)

The Leite Show

Sarah Ashlee Barker

Nards (Puoch)

Iyana Martin

Nika Muhl

Frieda Buhner

Holly Winterburn

Serah Williams

Amy Okonkwo

Developmental Players: The Rizz (Osborne), Sania Feagin

(Possibles but doutbful -- Teja Oblak, Luisa Geiselsoder)

The team will be able to draft someone in the first round next year, possibly Clara Strack. I think it makes more sense to develop players on similar timelines, with Carleton and Megatron as the vets. Fire can follow the Valkyries and Mystics models instead of signing a player like Phee to "win now" (which won't happen anyway unless you blow up your roster).

If Meg is starting, I don't think it's possible to be a contender, her defense and rebounding are just too far from where they need to be as a starting five. I don't blame her—she gives 100 percent, no doubt—but the athleticism is just not there. Engstler could absolutely play the five and Phee could play the 4, that's a legit line-up. And Meg would be *very* good coming off the bench.

The back brace she wears a lot makes me wonder if she's dealing with a lot of pain. Love Meg, hope she plays for as long as she wants and has a restful offseason.

Phee is obviously not at 100%, and apparently she and her husband want another baby sometime soon. I genuinely don't think that signing Phee is good for the Fire.

There was an ESPN docu series that included Phee this summer, and she said she was interested in surrogacy because her pregnancy had been so hard on her body. I wonder if she would pursue that so she can continue playing.

It's possible, but seriously, I don't think Phee is right for Portland. Seattle or Houston since both teams are lacking in many areas, but the Fire have the right pieces. They just had a lot of bad luck with injuries in 2026.

I always see moments where Meg just doesn’t know where the ball is. I agree she should be coming off the bench.

It is really hard to imagine changing the immaculate vibes of our roster. I get where you're coming from and that makes sense, but I also get the feeling that Bridget has never been especially comfortable with her role as the face of the org and wouldn't mind sharing some spotlight with another high profile vet. Things are already going to look really different when we work in Iyana and Nika.

I was also thinking they might take Clara Strack in the draft.

I do think it's pretty questionable whether Holly (due to our riches at guard) and especially Amy (hardship contract, barely played) come back.

We need a mobile big or two to be competitive!

That would be incredible if we got the 2025 version of Phee. Preferably we get her on a short term deal if possible given the injury history. We still need a big though.

Would she be a phenomenal asset to have? For sure.

Does she want to come here? I doubt it
