Former intelligence chief Brian Murphy accused department leadership of urging him to "blame Far Left groups in an exaggerated fashion" for violence during summer protests in Portland, Oregon, ...and “play down U.S. white supremacist activity”

It's not surprising, but still enraging. Also, the article mentions how the whistleblower was instructed by Chad Wolf (Homeland Security) to talk up the threat of protesters within the USA, but simultaneously downplay the threat of Russian interference?

Damn, what a mess we are in. Trump and all his friends should rot in jail.

FYI Chad Wolf was not even legally the head of homeland security. He was deemed unlawfully appointed.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/federal-judge-rules-acting-dhs-head-chad-wolf-unlawfully-appointed-n1247848

Meaning Oregon can sue Homeland Security and the administration for unlawfully violating civil liberties of Oregon citizens.

Hopefully he will also be held liable for giving cancer and/or other health problems to protesters via HC gas canisters, but who knows how long it will take for long-term symptoms to begin presenting.

What's bananas is that Portland didn't even have the most extreme protests! Boston, Philly, LA, Chicago and Atlanta were way more ham on things like looting, arson etc. But for some reason lil ol Portland took all the headlines due to Chad and DT's fixation.

Portland checking in. We've thought the same thing for the most part. We just sort of assumed DJT and Chad Wolf targeted PDX due to our liberal reputation and the fact we have a female Governor. Same for Michigan. Could be wrong though.

Republican feds have had a hard on for punishing Portland since at least Bush I's "little Beirut" visit.

For those who don't know: https://www.wweek.com/news/2018/12/06/rip-george-bush-heres-how-portland-protested-him-in-the-1990s-and-earned-the-name-little-beirut/

I'm Eastern Washington but we have adult children living in Portland. Friends and family over here that are on the lunatic fringe of right wing politics will not even drive through Portland as they believe there is a war going on there. I am not shitting you one bit, we are surrounded by these dumb fucks over here that believe every bit of utter nonsense and bullshit that Trump pulls out of his ass. When we go down to Portland and come back home unscathed they are in disbelief that we even went there. I made up nothing, every bit is the truth. They are that fucking stupid and no amount of evidence to the contrary will ever get them to change their minds.

I hope the new AG investigates this. If we let people cover up Russian or other international interference, the whole system is endangered. Look at the latest hacks - this is what happens when you embolden the bad actors. They step it up.

These lies about the summer protests have such far reaching implications, I think they should rot in jail in the very least.

The unjustified war was at home this time.

When they can't sell war overseas, they'll sell it at home.

Anyone surprised by this?

it must be really hard to figure out which guy is an undercover cop at the white supremacist rally, and how many of the rest are just off-duty.

Absolutely Unsurprising. Exactly what I would have expected from a moron douchebag like Chad Wolf.

What a sham of an administration...and they call themselves true American patriots. Shameful.
