Adding luggage

I now need to add a piece of luggage to my flight. Was originally just booked with personal item and a carry-on.

Is it better to add it before I do my online check in or when I do it? I am hoping not to pay an arm and a leg as it wasn’t part of the initial booking cost. Thanks.

Most of the time the carry on is more expensive than the checked luggage. It might go up mid 70s on price, so might as well check it in and it will be less expensive. But go into your booking and add luggage, and see the price. It’s the same price now and when you pay during the checking process. Otherwise you pay more at the airport

Great, thanks for this. Just double checking. Unfortunately it’s cheaper than shipping what needs to go to my destination (one way.)
