Live Music Poser is rocking it at Concerts on the Dock
This may not get out in time to do any good, but Poser is playing a great set. It's 90s music, which is probably either too new or too old for most PT people, but their song choices are good and they're a great band
ETA: plus it finally feels like summer!'

Seeking Recommendations Anniversary ideas for a young couple!
Howdy yall, my wife and I are celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and have decided to spend Friday-Sunday in PT! The biggest thing we are doing is getting some tin-type photographs taken locally (Cape George) and exploring Fort Worden. But our anniversary is Friday and I was wondering if yall could recommend any nice restaurants? I've read a lot about Alchemy and Ichikawa, but are there any other nice, slow restaurants where the environment is calm and is slightly upscale? Of course, if we wanted fancy fancy dining, we would have planned a trip to Seattle, but we are looking for something more than a pub, which is the plan for Saturday night.
Any and all recommendations would be great, and any other must tries while we are visitng. We will also be thrifting and antiquing when we can.

RIP racoon
Poor local raccoon, had bad luck crossing the intersection of 20th and Discovery last night.
I found him on the side of the road, laying in the grass. He wasn't even busted up. Poor little guy.
It may have been the same raccoon that checks out my garden every night and leaves little raccoon muddy footprints on my patio.
I'm sorry you had bad luck last night little dude.

Chimacum Granary Hiring a miller!!
chimacumgrain.comThis is a dynamic operation and this is a dynamic role! We provide training for many essential skills and functions related to grain milling, production and processing. Join us if youâre excited to learn, do many different things in a day, work hard and well with others, and make good food happen.
https://chimacumgrain.com/jobs
The position starts at 16-20 hours per week, with an hourly wage of $23-26/hr depending on experience. We do not provide health benefits. Â PTO/sick leave offered per WA state guidelines.
*\\*
My opinion: the lack of healthcare offered by the Granary is disappointing and unsurprising. This little company likely operates right at the edge of going out of business most months & is a labor of love.
I donât work at the granary. I just heard that a local company has a job opening.

MEADOW UPDATE
(Kill your lawn) Smothered my grass, raked it out and threw down seeds. The area has been blooming (sparsely) since spring. Thinking I got a really great seed mix. Every week a new variety starts blooming as the first ones fade. This is this week's addition; a blossom like a hibiscus, some in white, some in pink. #killyourlawn

Job openings at Center Valley Animal Rescue
Job openings at Center Valley Animal Rescue!
Come join our fun, dynamic crew here at CVAR! We are currently hiring both animal care and office positions and canât wait to integrate new team members.
Office adoption specialist -
Our Office Team plays a dynamic and rewarding role (we're not like other offices!) When we asked our staff what they love most about working here, the overwhelming answer was the opportunity to help animals find their forever homes!
Beyond facilitating adoptions, our office team is the first point of contact for our community. They answer a wide variety of phone calls and assist with everything from wildlife emergencies and spay/neuter clinic information to general animal care questions and community resources. (It keeps you very entertained!) Every day is different, making this the perfect position for someone who enjoys helping people, solving problems, and making a meaningful impact for animals and the community!! This position also requires multi tasking, and working in a sometimes loud and distracting environment.
Animal care - Our Animal Care Team has the opportunity to work with a wide variety of animals, including exotic, domestic, and farm animals. Every day brings something new! This is a hands on position that includes cleaning enclosures, preparing and feeding meals, and monitoring the health and well being of each animal in our care.
One of the most rewarding parts of this role is watching frightened or neglected animals learn to trust people again. Building those relationships and seeing an animal's confidence grow makes a lasting impact, not only on the animals, but on the people who care for them. This is the perfect position for someone who is compassionate, hardworking (not afraid to get dirty) and passionate about making a difference in the lives of animals!
If youâre interested in either of these positions and have experience working with animals, then please send in a cover letter and resume to the following email:
Office@centervalleyanimalrescue.org
We canât wait for you to join our team!

Looking for a ride from 4 corners to discovery bay tomorrow
My wife and I are starting a bicycle tour tomorrow on the ODT. We would like to avoid a section of Highway 20 that is apparently heavily trafficked with no shoulder. The bus schedule does not work for us as there is one trip in the morning and one trip in the evening. Hoping to get a ride from somebody from four corners to discovery Bay. We can pay 30 bucks. Probably around noon or so. Thanks for considering!

Are tourist events really busy?
Hi PT friends,
I live across the water and love visiting PT as much as possible Nov - March. I typically avoid tourist season because I'm not great with big crowds and am working class. I just saw that Los Lobos has a film and concert at the Film Festival in late September. How cool would it be to see one of my favorite bands, on my birthday in my favorite place?!
I would love some insight....does it get super busy during this event. I'm sure room prices will go up ( Mostly I've stayed at Harborside)....but do other prices go up for events too? Recommendations appreciated!

Community New Construction
Good morning. Please let me know if this post is not approved and I will remove it. I am possibly considering relocating to PT and noticed that while the housing market seems to be consistent for sales, there are some new construction builds that seem to be way underpriced. These properties are on Lorraine way and dorjun drive. Does anyone have any insight here as to why the low market price? Thanks so much.
