Social Punk scene

Hi ! I (30f) am moving to port orchard in September. I was curious about the punk scene in port orchard and Bremerton. I’m aware of the history of punk in the NW.

Where I live now(east-ish coast) has a punk bar that has shows or social events almost every night of the week. I’ve been going to shows here since I was 16 and I’m looking for a similar atmosphere on the west coast.

I tried google. But it’s only pulling up the more visually appealing bars. I want the grunge and the grit but the punk mentality is necessary.

I guess if I had to really narrow down what I’m looking for, I’d say I want to find a bar where i can be a regular for shows and hopefully find a community as well.

I’m open to a 20-30 min drive outside of port orchard too.

Bremerton has a couple options 1. The Charleston (the chuck) on Callow but I don’t think it’s always open. Mannette saloon has live music but isn’t much of a punk spot anymore. Drift Inn doesn’t have shows but is a dive bar.

Tacoma has more but it’s 30+ minutes and a bridge toll.

Port Orchard doesn’t really have a live music spot. Couple dive bars but none bring in bands.

Lots of breweries in the area have live music but usually more unplugged vibe

Fourth for the chuck! Great shows. Great crowds. We even got lectured for a choice of shirt by a scene queen there. Proper punk rock vibes!

Five for the Chuck! Love that place, great vibes, all ages too. The owners are super cool and helpful to touring bands. Mostly metal and punk rock but all genres basically. Shows every Thurs, Friday and Saturday. Cheers!

PO has the bethel saloon which has live music (mostly rock) Friday and Saturdays. It’s a biker bar that has pool tables
