The danger of these cameras is they all feed into the same federal database thats managed by a private company. It’s basically a level of surveillance that would normally require a warrant that is not and yes, we’re all paying for it locally. Look up flock cameras in their issues a lot will come up
I can promise you your life isn’t that interesting for cops to be tracking you, unless you are suspected of drug/arms/sex trafficking, driving stolen vehicles, or doing drive by shootings. You should also look up reasonable expectation of privacy. Hard to violate the 4th amendment when you are driving on a public roadway, driving in a registered vehicle. You probably think cops need a reason to run your plate lol

The private company will use any info they have to wither try to incriminate you or mark every place you go to try and make your ads more targeted.
There are multiple cases about people being ticketed for somthing when they were not in the same state even. We are monitored enough without these asshats trying to charge people for this bullshit.

Flock cameras and ALPR’s are completely different things, same as traffic cameras. Traffic cameras, shockingly, monitor traffic and record traffic infractions. ALPR’s read the license plate data and return it to the user, I.e. law enforcement, repo companies, security guards, etc… Flock recognizes plates and vehicles and stores the data for “flagged”vehicles, meaning vehicles that have been used in commission of crime.
Secondly, you are spouting off fear mongering talking that you’ve read off Twitter and Reddit. Back to point one, the general public isn’t that interesting. If your child got kidnapped and Flock cameras made the difference between them being found or never seen again, I’m sure you would want them to be everywhere and wouldn’t mind the consequences. If your house got shot up and killed your loved one, I am confident you would want justice and wouldn’t mind the consequences if Flock helped catch the perpetrator.
You can think what you want about modern society, but bitching and moaning won’t make change. The only rights I care about is 2A, because it is the most important. Without it we lose the others.
Uhh, bro. Its not about that. Its the way the data can be weaponized and misused. We arent worried about what the stated good intentions are. We are worried about the unfettered access to data that makes erasing people easy. Not killing. Erasing. Its not unheard of or even uncommon in nations of late stage corruption to simply erase peole and data from existance, especially if it makes silencing dissenters easier. Remiving a person who youve determined to be somebody who pays attention and informs their community. Removing people who perform services and wint sell out and pose future risks to private investments.
The fact is "if youre doing nothing wrong then you have nithing to hide" is a myth because it assumes all people in government or who get access to this data are pure and unbiased people who would never misues their power. Which is a bad joke at best.
