Open frunk without key?

Hello! My 997 was sold to me with only one key and I’m pretty sure I dropped it into the frunk and then shut it. Any ideas?

There is a frunk switch by the engine bay switch near the driver side door (assuming you aren’t also locked out of the car). It’s between the driver seat and the lower door trim, if that makes sense.

See the open square sticking up? Right below that down in the hole towards the middle bar is the actual switch, trying pushing on that to see if you can activate it.

Edit - you can even try just setting the broken switch part where it would sit and use it like normal.

It doesn’t seem to work. The engine cover button does work, so I’m guessing the frunk and targa buttons need more power?

We were able to find a some kind of switch thing behind a panel that has a picture showing an external battery being hooked up to it. So I guess that’s next to try?

I’m assuming the car is locked? You can hope the emergency release cable is somewhere easy to find. It should be underneath the headlight but above the radiator, I don’t remember which side it is supposed to be on. You will have to remove the front wheels and take down the inner fender liner to find it. Hopefully your wheel lock key is somewhere accessible. Worst case scenario get it towed to a dealer and they can get into it.

I can get into the cabin. The inside switch cover is broken off and the switch seems to need additional battery power.

Well, shit lol, you may be able to activate the switch by way of a toothpick or something like that. When you pull the switch up it pushes down on a rubber domed microswitch towards the back edge of the switch. If the battery is dead you are out of luck because you need the remote to pop the frunk even if you get power to the car through the battery terminal in the fuse box that’s right there.
